49ers vs Vikings pregame thread - Divisional Round 2019

They are not consistent. We can win, in particular, with Tart, Ford and Alexander back. They gave a six day week, have to go on the road again, have to deal with the travel and weather and, hands down, we have the letter team and better coaches. Hope for a non nail biter.

We have the better QB, the most important position out there. The OL will be absolutely VITAL in this game, and they need to show up in a big way. Pass protection is my main concern for the game, as they have a very good DL. But I don't doubt that Jimmy can rack up some good yards and TDs against their secondary.

Beat the Vikings - revenge for 1987
Beat the Seahawks - revenge for 2013
Beat the Ravens - revenge for 2012

I like this kind of party. Although my heart would love:

Beat the Vikings
Beat the Eagles
Beat the Titans

They key is gonna ne pressuring Cousins and scaring him. If we can hit him a few times and turn him over that's how we win. Pass rush needs to show up.

Jimmy >>>>>> Cousins

This is the game that can prove it. I think Jimmy has shown he can handle pressure better than Cousins. But Cousins is killer on play action.

We're gonna have to rattle him and hit him often. If Ford can come back and our 3rd down pass rush looks like it did earlier in the year I think we'll definitely win.

Boy everyone thinking this is a easy win doesn't know that Vikings roster.

We just saw it. Not impressed.

Don't count out the Vikings. Ever. I can remember heavily loaded 49er teams going up against the Vikes in Candlestick Park no less, only to watch Joe Montana get positively destroyed in 1986 and again in 1987.

It was after the '87 upset that Bill Walsh made plans to install Steve Young as starter and trade away Montana. But Eddie D. stepped in and nixed that plan.

So, for those of us who know history, never discount the Vi-Queens.

This.
I don't think sherm will let the team get too confident.
Calling it now. 7 sacks, strip sack and 1 pick. 37-10
