Good stuff jd.
The schematic matchups I'm interested to see:
- MIN 12 personnel vs 49ers base wide 9. Rams used 7 on the LoS to further widen the wide9 then ran it up inside/weakside. Will the 49ers use a 5 man front to combat this or stay with the 4man front wide 9?
- Will MIN use bootlegs and screens to give Cousins some easy completions and defined reads? I think they do. How quickly can Saleh adjust this time around?
- MIN is hurting at slot CB. Do the 49ers use more 3WR sets to exploit this or do the 49ers do what they like to do and play 21personnel, keeping MIN's nickel personnel off the field?
- Do the 49ers use a quick passing game to help mitigate MIN's Edge rushers or have a RB chip to help Staley/McG?
- MIN has quick LBs. Do 49ers go with outside zone rushing attack or power blocking runs?
I think it's important that Kyle dials up misdirection plays to curb MIN's aggressiveness. Whether that's giving eye candy like jet sweep motion or screens, he has to scheme up ways to use MIN's speed against them.

I was curious on how big you guys see the pre snap motions having an effect on this game. I think shany will use them to move the defense around.
I see something like them doubling on kittle so we motion him out wide to draw the safety and corner/LB out there then use the other side of the field to gash them in the runs. Would also setup some of the concepts you talk about in your video Jonny.

Yes I think motioning Kittle out will make him more difficult to double as opposed to keeping him in the middle of the field where there are LBs and safeties. The downside is he is now less of a threat as a run blocker. I was referring to the motions where a WR is sprinting across the formation at the same time the ball is snapped. This causes the box defenders to false step/hesitate to create better blocking angles for the FB/WRs in the run game. I think this will be important.
With two weeks to gameplan, I think Kyle throws the kitchen sink at MIN. I think Kyle is prepared to dig deep into the playbook and we may see something like the NO gameplan where there were so many misdirection plays and even Sanders throwing a pass. Maybe not that extreme, but with MIN having a short week to prepare, giving that MIN defense a bunch of various looks should pay off.

Jonny,
Besides the knowledge and analysis, your verbal skills are first rate too. No ums, ahs, etc. Efficient language. Thanks.

Well, I started scripting everything out and that helped. I do speak in public all the time though.

Thanks for your work Jonny and TH1408. Do agree that the OL is the key. Just wondering if Person should start over Brunskill?

Could go either way. I never got around to showing it, but the last QB sneak in the seattle game it was awesome. Brunskill picked up the DT and pancaked him through the pile.

Thoughts on running more 11 personnel then usual? They have nothing at CB and will be lining up safeties as slot DBs.

Kyle will exploit the slot with Kittle and Juice.classic WCO
