And 97 or 98 I think.

98 the Vikings were 15-1. LOL. It was 1997 for sure (38-22 49ers win)

every time the 9ers have faced the Vikings in the playoffs since they've wrecked them. If I'm a Vikings fan I'm sick of seeing San Fran.

This. 49ers are 5-1 vs the Vikings in the playoffs. And most of those have been beat downs

Bringing up that game was dumb. In that game Anthony Carter went off like a madman. Receivers generally do not go off against our healthy defense. Why? Because their QB will get sacked into oblivion if they keep dropping back. The history of 49ers/Vikings in the playoffs is so lopsided. Don't forget those John Brodie teams in the 70s.
ecstatic... feel better about us now in the playoffs since our runs in the early 90's pre-Young

Our line just controlled on both sides of the ball. As soon as that happened, it was game, set ,match. It was a great day of football along with Ravens losing
It will be a great day Today if Packers can take care of business today. One step closer to Super bowl! Quest for six!

I think for many of us who remember the 1980s, we always get nervous when we face certain teams in the playoffs that we faced back then. Should it matter? Nah. But in 1987, it did matter, and it cost us. This time, fortunately, it didn't.

Positives:
  • Kwon "Legendary" Alexander, Dee "Harrison" Ford, and Jaquiski "Pop" Tartt are all back and have made an impact. We look good. We look fresh. We are primed to do something special in the playoffs.
  • Running game looks solid.
  • Pass game is there but it is hard to tell as we are now just milking the hell out of the run.
  • Special teams play by Mostert!
  • Uncle Sherm making Kirk Cousins rethink himself and likely all NFL analysts. And that bozo that said Sherman made a mistake negotiate his own contract.
  • Greenlaw starting to make some plays! GO HOGS!
  • I am pretty sure I just sacked Kirk Cousins! MY GOD! THE DLINE IS READY TO GO! YOU GET A SACK! AND YOU GET A SACK!
  • JIMMY WARD LAYING THE WOOD LIKE A LUMBERJACK THAT AIN'T BEEN HOME TO SEE MOMMA FOR A MONTH!

Negatives:
  • Jimmy pick. If you have read my thoughts, and I am hardly original, but Jimmy makes the occasional throw where you wonder if he is more Favre than Montana. In the end, I want him to be Jimmy G, so, you and I have to live with it. I just hope that one of these errant moments do not cost us when it matters most.
  • Spoon should be benched for Mosley. Nuff said.
  • Bourne drop 4th qtr, even though, he has had a heckuva game.

Watching that pick from the end zone camera I wouldn't be surprised if Jimmy didn't see Kendricks. It looked like his view was pretty well blocked by the players in front of him and he may have thought that Kendricks would have bit on the run fake. Still it was a pretty bad pick in that position on the field. Credit to the D for holding them to only 3 pts.

So many "expert" takes are completely retarded. 1987 has nothing to do with 2019, and Jimmy in his 8th career start opening week game in Minnesota with a much worse roster 32 games ago has nothing to do with right now. Nate Burleson picked Minnesota because he said "all Garoppolo remembers about facing the Vikings is throwing 3 picks and losing, so that will haunt him." Derp.

Some pain never goes away.
I'm going to repeat like in the game thread.

Vikings only points came off OUR mistakes. Otherwise it's a shutout.

Truth!

I watched that game in absolute pain.

I lived in Squaw Valley - CA and we were all tortured in that one.
