I wonder what adjustments Green Bay will make this time around. I feel if the Niners can take away Adams (less than 100 yards) they will have a hard time winning. That is, unless Jimmy G implodes with turnovers. Im purely saying this on a hunch but it feels like most of Jimmys turnovers are when were in our own territory for some reason. He needs a 2 game stretch with 0 turnovers!

Well he was 14 for 20 for 253 yds, 2 TD's, 0 INT, 0 fumbles, and had a 145.8 passer rating against GB earlier this year.

This time around we have Ford and Kwon on the D as well.

I know last time he played well. He needs to do it again maybe even better. But I wonder what adjustments Green Bay makes overall. Their coach said yesterday they would scrap that whole plan and look at what other teams did that had success vs San Fran. The Saints were the only team that really shredded us.

Dragged receivers all the way across the field forcing our long CB's to chase laterally, targeting Witherspoon and isolating Al Shaair and Marcell Harris with Cook (TE). Now we have Moseley, Alexander at SAM, Tartt for TE's and Ford.

We might end his career next Sunday.

What other teams did well was play against 4 backups in the secondary and a 4th string DE.

Lmao, please post an example of one single time this team was over confident or acted over confident this season.....

Someone on the pre game on Saturday (maybe Rodney Harrison) said the Niners were acting "cocky"........say what???

I must have missed this completely because I've never seen any of them acting cocky. If they are talking about Sherman, maybe he has been a little more animated the past few weeks but he hasn't been arrogant or cocky IMO.

If anything, this team has been low key and reserved.

The Harrison comment

I think he was referring to the niners dancing and stuff before the game, that was what he specifically pointed out. Which that IS the Niners, this team has fun and it is a blast to watch. Enjoying the game doesn't make them cocky. They have been grounded all year and no team loves the game more or goes harder IMO.
Harrison acted like having fun and winning have to be mutually exclusive. Which i guess, i mean look who he played for.

Playing devil's advocate here but would a loss this Sunday to that team be the most disappointing loss in franchise history?

The SB loss to Baltimore still stings but it would be downright embarrassing to lose to GB this Sunday.

if we win sunday but lose another super bowl. i will request a one month time out because i will be beyond whatever level that livid is. your point is well taken. we are the top seed., at home. healthy. no excuse to lose sunday

While I understand, as someone who pegged us as, at best, a 9 win team, can you really be that upset, no matter the outcome?

Tough to be not confident.
They tried to run against Seadderall in the 2nd half and got pretty much zero yards on the ground. Tought to beat us if you dont have a credible ground game. And that Seadderall team was missing some starters on defense.

Rodgers has to ball out to give GB a chance imo. I don't think Aaron Jones will be able to do much on the ground against the 49ers healthy front 7.

Agreed. GB isnt as talented in the run game as Minn with Dalvin Cook and see how that turned out for them.

Overall, GB seems like the 4th most talented team in the NFC playoffs. To me, Minn was more talented when you look at the star power. I just dont see anywhere where the pack outmatches us. Maybe their edge rushers on our tackles... maybe...but it's not as bad as our edge guys vs their tackles.

Anyone remember in 2015 when packers were blown out by the cardinals and then in the divisional round the packers almost beat them

It would be a stressful game but I'll take the end result...at least for the 2nd game.

Hey based on their news there's still a chance as they host the Vikings for the NFC Championship.

Have faith Seattle! They'll be playing in the same Superbowl as Earl Thomas.

Well from the standpoint of the 49ers being the best team left in the entire playoffs, yes.

But if you're looking at it from the standpoint of expectations prior to the season, most definitely no.

ok guys. i need to poke the bear. my job is doing high school basketball games on a local tv station. bear with me. on friday night the team i cover has lazards little brother playing on it. his dad is always there so i must wear niner clothes to the game and then make eye contact with the dad while pointing to my niner shirt on multiple occasions. do the head nod and other poke the bear gestures. the man is big and can beat me up but it is what you must do when confronted by evil

the more you win the more you want to win. the further you go. the further you want to go. now that we are in the dance, you take it all the way to a winning conclusion or it is a bitter disappointment with well deserved anger. there are no moral victories at this point of the game. there are no nice second place trophies. there are no well its a honor just to get this far. there are no more peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
