I agree, Seahawks def got screwed on the spot of the ball at the end of the game. Graham didn't get a 1st.

That's because you were looking at the unofficial line to gain superimposed onto the field. If you look at the line to gain at the sticks it was a half yard off from where the yellow line was. Play the game and let the chips fall where they may.

He absolutely did. People just forget that the superimposed yellow broadcast line is never official.

Yep. They didn't get screwed. But even if they did. So what.
You only have worry about the player in front of you. If your playing the ref you will lose100% of the time, don't fall for this trap.

That's what I thought initially, but we were basing it off of the unofficial yellow TV first down line. The real marker was considerably closer than the yellow line. Even some of the smart Hawk fans brought this up on social media. Looking at the real first down marker, he probably just made it. It was one of those plays that could have gone either way. Whatever was called on the field would have stood

lol nice job
Heads up that this image isn't of the official stick marker either (why there's no chain on it and it's not the first down marker).

The official yardage marker sticks are on the other side of the field, and that down marker is just the guy trying to line up parallel from 53 yards away.

Anyone using either this marker or the TV line as the definitive answer is full of it. We don't actually know, and where Graham is actually down is shielded by Hill's body either way so it doesn't even really matter.

The basic point still stands though that if a team's win or loss comes down to a few inches on a call that can go either way, it is the team that has put themselves in that position.
