Will we be able to afford & keep our D-line intact?

Solly i think has 1 more year, and if he doesn't turn the corner we could either sign him cheap or let him walk

Ford needs to show signs of health or will have a hard time getting a deal anywhere.

Bosa has a while to go, but I keep hearing on the radio (KNBR) that big bro Joey wants to move up north and leave the bolts. To sign him Ford is the odd man out.

can you imagine if we put the FRANCHISE on AA and he ends up having a better year than this year??

What do you do then knowing that Bucko is going to want HIS share?

IF the management really wants to keep both, then I say give them exact the same contract.. We once did this with Harris Barton and Steve Wallace to avoid how should get paid more..

... and IF Joey wants to come here and be in the opposite END of our D, heck, I'll offer the Chargers either Bucko or AA and have the choose who they rather have... THEN, I'll throw in SOLO to be even more attractive.

.. the next question now is, how much do we give Kittle and Warner when it's their turn??
I think we can and will. Being able to rush 4 and play great nickel defense is a huge part of the Niners success but Garropolo may not get expensive pieces on offense. Lower cost online and skill position players over all. The way Kyle leans on the running game I think we can stay with the current formula for success
It's definitely doable. I'm sure a lot of you junior GM's have seen this tool. It's fun to do what if scenarios.

This site currently forecasts $16 million in cap space for players currently under contract for 2020. If we cut McKinnon and Goodwin that goes up to $24 million including their dead money.

Buckner and AA's next contracts will both be pretty well north of $10 million per, then to keep Kittle we'll need to pay him Kelce money with inflation which should average close to $11 million per. We really don't need to worry about Buckner and Kittle until after next year, but it would be nice to lock them all down for a few years ASAP. Not impossible unless Bosa starts pushing for an early re-negotiation.
AA's agent will probably claim that he's an end and not a tackle since ends get paid more. AA has taken more snaps playing outside.

Wow imagine having both Joey and Nick on the Ds edges!

I think Bosa and Buckner definitely stay long-term. Armstead gets tagged but we may not keep him after that. Solomon Thomas is definitely gone when his contract is up.

Ford is the wild card. We will either keep him or opt out of his contract in a year if there's a better option in play (like Joey).
Just check the past posts in each respective players' thread. A lot of people thought Shanny Lynch were insane giving ,"big money ," to ," no names."

Juice check, Dee Ford,Kwon etc.

The same duo that brought you Brieda, Mostert, Coleman,Jimmy G, Deebo, etc.

I have all the confidence in the world that Shanny Lynch will deliver depth and more hidden gems..IF we part ways with Arik.
I also think McKinnon and Goodwin will either have something renegotiated or they will be released. You have to hope the Ward and Blair might take a discount.

After another year, Staley might come off the books and you have to think Thomas is not going to get big dollars on this team.

They might re up Jimmy to give money back. People can talk about Dee making big dime and not playing much, but he makes a difference with his snaps.
no.
We can keep it.......FOR A WHILE......We franchise tag Armstead this off season. Some of the other guys don't have contracts coming up. So for 2 years at least you can keep it. This year and next. That's worth doing BTW. If it gave us a chance to win this year it gives us a chance to win next year too. Eventually Solomon Thomas is gone because he didn't work out. Dee Ford is good but getting older and injured too. So he may be gone eventually. But not too soon because he is still effective for now. You can keep Bosa and Buckner which is what I think they will do and should do. You can potentially keep Armstead probably on the franchise tag. For 1 year at least. Maybe longer. It depends on the numbers and if you can work out a long term deal or not.
It's not a question of if we can keep the D line together, it's more for how long. If we could hold them together for 3 more years I'd be happy. There's a chance we could lose AA and what if Ford's knee doesn't respond to treatment. The line would look a lot different without those 2. Keep your fingers crossed.

No.
I don't see how we keep AA. Dude is 26. He's gonna get a monster deal.

Joey Bosa + Nick Bosa would be just unbelievable. One can dream at least.

We can keep him for 1 year on the franchise tag. After that it gets very cost prohibitive if you do it again or give him a long term deal. But it's totally doable for 1 year at least on the franchise tag. And I think they will probably do that. Some other team has to give us 2 first round picks in exchange for him if they want him. That's a fair exchange IMO. We would keep him. Nobody would give that up.
