Hello Faithful. Greetings from Central Washington State.
Many year lurker, 1st time poster, lifelong San Francisco 49er fan.
I'm 60...I've seen the whole story, from John Brodie to Joe to Colin to Jimmy. The worst of times, the best of times, I've been there with all of you. I had to join the Zone and just say what this game Sunday means to me, and so many. To the young people, who were born after 1994, like my son, who lives and breathes 49er football. They don't know what it's like to see their team lift The Trophy, only crushing heartbreak. To the older ones, who have been through it all, and have waited 25 years, who know this may be their last chance to feel what its like to win it all.
This has been one of the greatest seasons of 49er ball I've ever experienced, and I'm sure you all feel the same. It's been too amazing...the unreal undefeated start, George on 4th and 2, Dre with The Stop, mowing down the Vikings and Packers...and now, here we are. How beyond spectacular tomorrow will be...
Surrounded by Seahawk blue, I bleed Red and Gold. I'm with all of you. Go 49ers, win this one for Joe Staley.
I was born in '89. Not old enough to remember any of the Super Bowl wins in my lifetime. It is however fitting that they won it all in my birth year. My first real Niner memory was the Owens catch vs GB in 1998. I was 9. My childhood friend/next door neighbor and his family were from Wisconsin. They were HUGE GB fans and I had to deal with the heartbreak of losing to them all the time. The Owens game cemented the 49ers in my heart forever. I then remember being mad the next week cause my parents wouldn't let me skip my rec basketball game to watch us play the Falcons in the Divisional Round. I found out we lost after the game and was mad as hell. I've been to most of the east coast games vs the Ravens and Redskins over the years. I went to the 2013 Divisional Playoff win at the Panthers. Never had the chance to make it out to a home game as I live in Virginia. I debated going to the Super Bowl this year but just couldn't bite the bullet on the costs. It was going to be a minimal of $10k for two tickets. I would have loved to have gone. However, I will be watching tomorrow night with my dad, brother, 4 year old nephew and some friends. The women are going to see a show, so just the boys. I've already started to hydrate in preparation for a few adult beverages tomorrow.
This time tomorrow we all are gonna be so happy listening to all these idiots who doubted us all season slurping all over this team, its gonna be fantastic.
Let's go Niners! This is our year. I've stuck with you all these years since a little boy. You guys have made all of us proud
Including those haters on the board (deep down). I'm pumped!
