I remember in the 80's they told us the lottery was weighted for the people that had been season ticket holders the longest. I don't know how much it was weighted or if they still do it that way. We never got picked but we were going to sell the tickets if we did, except for the game at Stanford.

I live in Tampa and planned on going to next years SB since it will be 20 minutes away, but Im thinking about biting the bullet and going this year instead since the 49ers are in it. We'd drive down the day of the game (4 hour drive), and drive to West Palm afterward (an hour form Miami), stay with friends and drive home the next morning.
The tickets Id be most comfortable buying are the package from NFL On Location, where you get a ticket to the game (nosebleed section of course) and access to a pre game party with food and alcohol...price listed is $4463/each ($8927 before fees for 2 tickets), and after fees the total is $10,732 for 2 tickets.
Ticket prices go up every year, so next year it will be even more expensive, and this is the only year Id be GUARANTEED to see the 49ers play in a SB, so Im trying to convince myself that going this year is the smarter move. Id have to max out a credit card to get tickets, but how many people get to see their team play in a Super Bowl? This might be my only chance, and its on my bucket list.
If I dont go this year, Im DEFINITELY going next year in Tampa...and although I like the 49ers chances to go back again next year, one injury can change everything, and Id hate to regret not going this year.
The other option is to try to wait and get cheaper tickets as the game gets closer, but I dont know if I wanna play roulette and take the chance. As someone else mentioned, Hard Rock Stadium is kind of small, so the prices might not go down much, and they could even end up going UP.
Decisions, decisions....

have you gotten tix yet? what's your plan?
Bought them last night through the NFL. The service charges are still very high but nothing like stub hub, etc.
How much was the cost?
Cheapest is around $5k per. I upgraded a bit because I'm not paying that much to be in the nosebleeds. Just got parking as well for $200
You got 2 of those for $5K or going solo? Man $10 K is a lot to go to 1 game.

Live a little. A little birdie told me that top class clean hoahs with current hiv tests charge around $2k an hour.

I wanted to go but I would be going by myself. I don't think it's worth it then.

If you can afford it, do it this year. Win or lose, it's been an amazing year.

This sums it up the best.
I have a 17 year old about to graduate high school. 10k (probably 13k after airfare, hotel and food), would definitely do some good towards helping him out with college.
OR - 13k invested would earn a lot of interest between now and retirement

Good old California living. Man our mortgage back in NC was 1750 for a 4/2.5 bath house on 1 acre. Then we had to comeback out here due to work, and f**k me sideways with this s**t.
