But '84 DLine had Gary Johnson.

Gary Johnson = buckner today
Fred = bosa today.

And dont forget Michael carter, holt and board.

Our 2020 DLine looks just like that '84 DLine.

Dean only started 5 games in his career as a 49er. His best years were 79-81, only half of one season was with SF during that stretch.

Michael Carter was great, thats why I listed him on my team.

Also Gary Johnson was a backup on that '84 team. Manu Tuiasosopo, Dwaine Board and Jim Stuckey were the starters.

Gary Johnson was a great player with SD, but he was 32 years old and one year short of retirement when he came to SF.

You must have never seen the nickel defense that destroyed Marinos offense. The nickel pass rush was Dean, Johnson, Carter and Board, and they had 51 (I belive) sacks that year and the team went 15-1. Dean was a pass rush specialist- not big enough to play on a 3-4 base defense, either at LB or DE. Gary was a monster inside that had to be doubled, and Dean was left one on one most of the time.

The track stances and the heat Bosa, buckner, armstead and Ford brought to Green Bay reminded me of that great '84 pass rush. Aaron pretty much avoided at least 3 sacks by tossing the ball to the sidelines or on the ground in the NFCCG. Once that '84 DLine had a lead, the game was pretty much over. I'm betting its going to be the same with Mahomes.

Bosa definitely too soon. But 8 years from now? I think he will be on this team

Aldon can make a case ...

Probably over J.Peterson

Hard to put a 1 year rental on an all-time 49er team. Especially one that defected the next year to our nemesis and won them another super bowl.

Davis left too. Primetime is the goat of cbs and played like it here helping us win our last championship. I'd also put 8x all pro and hofer Jimmy Johnson in there before Davis.

Dean had 4 sacks in 1984. Johnson had 5.

The starters were Board (who had 10), Manu Tuiasosopo (who had 4) and Jim Stuckey (who had 3).

Carter was the other main backup and he had 4 too. Pillers also had a pair

Turner, Bunz, McColl and Shell combined for 9 off the edge.

There were a lot of guys who could get to the QB on that team. I am just saying when you look at Fred Deans HOF career, he wasnt a 49er for very long and his best years were behind him when he got here. Same with Johnson. If I were doing a Charges All-Time team both would be on it. Just like if I were doing a Cowboys or Falcons All-Time team Deion would be on it but none of them were around long enough or impactful enough to be chosen over guys who were here longer and there for produced more.

The bolded underlined I think you had rated to high..sometimes just a little bit and in the cases of the coaches and a few players by a lot. There were a few players I thought should rank higher as well...but I'm letting that go or I might as well make my own list.

Kap is 7th in team history in passing. 2nd amongst 49ers QB's in Rushing yards. 4th amongst QB's with over 300 passing attempts in QB Rating (behind only Montana, Young and Jimmy G). His TD to INT ratio is better than Montana, Brodie, Garcia, Tittle or Jimmy G. and his completion percentage is the 5th best amongst the Top 10 passers in franchise history. Beyond that he also led us to two NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl, in which he almost completed one of the greatest comeback of all-time.

Kevan Barlow is actually 6th in franchise history amongst RB's in yards from scrimmage. Now I dont think he was anything special so I moved him down the list further than his production would indicate. But he definitely deserves to be in that range just based on contributions.

I can see a valid argument for any of the top 4 TE's being in any slot. Vernon Davis happens to be the All-Time leading receiver from the position and he was an absolute freak of nature. Maybe the fastest TE ever. I think in a few years Kittle will surpass him in my mind, but its a bit early to get there yet.

Would love to hear who you would replace Justin Smith, Tommy Hart, Aldon Smith and NaVorro Bowman with.

As far as the coaches...thats pretty much every 49ers coach. The 49ers have had 20 coaches in franchise history, only 15 of them won more than 5 games and thats them. Not sure who you would replace them with.

I would be interested to see where you would move Harbaugh to. He is one of only 4 coaches to lead us to a Super Bowl and is 2nd behind only George Seifert in career winning percentage, and he did so without a Hall of Fame QB.

LOL, Kevin F.agan way down at #11?

This team's fans are just clueless.

Kevin F.agan was literally the greatest point of attack run defender in the history of the NFL. Bar none. Nobody else was even close. Not Jerry Sherk. Not Cortez Kennedy. Nobody.

You would think this fan base would have taken note after he famously made Anthony Munoz his absolute b***h in XXIII, but apparently not. Instead they champion many players who couldn't carry his jock strap (I won't name them out of respect, but there are several who appear on this list).

Course, there are tons of other problems I have with the rankings there as well.
