Poll: More confident heading into XLVII or LIV?

Media day/week and how each respective team handles it will be a barometer for me on who's more ready for SB LIV....methinks KC will fall for the adulation and be more susceptible to the Miami distractions. Niners already spent a week in Florida a month ago between the Ravens and Saints game.

Someone in the pregame thread said to watch the QB's eyes when they walk out the tunnel during player intros...

= he ain't ready

= dialed in

We all know Jimmy G has been to the big dance before (as a backup) so there's a good chance he won't be as awed come time the actual game approaches compared to Mahomes...

Back in SB XLVII, it seemed like the Niners were the ones who fell for the media distractions, and started sluggishly thereby. Kaep wasn't ready for it either...

This time round we still have a young team, prob younger, but there's enough veteran leadership from the likes of Sherm, Sanders, Jimmy G, and Staley who've all diverse experience from being in the Bowl which I hope will level our younger players. I'm also ALOT more confident in the Niners coaching staff this time around preparing the team and coming up with a killer game plan....
I was pulling for the Ravens all the way. I really felt we had a much better team than them(still do) and figured we would run away with that game(obviously not)

This year the Chiefs is really the one team I really didn't want us to play due to the Mahomes factor and all the speed and talent they have on offense.

I hope the results in the SB will be different since we're playing a team I didn't want us to play against versus losing to the team I wanted us to play last time.

You can see it every time, just watch!

Don't forget John Lynch, Kyle, and Mike Shannahan plus the Niner alumni who seem to be much more welcome by this administration than the past. Lots of sage advice and steadying voices.

How many on the Chiefs roster with SB experience?
I'm more confident in this team than the 2012-13 team, but I feel like the Chiefs are better than that Ravens team. There was always something hairbrained about those Harbaugh teams in half of the big games. Go up big on Pats, well let them come back. Go down big vs the Falcons then come back. Additionally, the defense had some pretty big injuries. Justin Smith was the best/most important player on that team, and he had a torn triceps. The secondary wasn't holding up at all without the pass rush.

This team is as healthy as its been the whole year just about (we're down DJ Jones, but we've gained Jimmie Ward). Jimmy G is a better player now than at the beginning of the year, not to mention Deebo Samuel has become a huge weapon in the offense. Then there's the addition of Sanders who I feel will be overlooked heading into this game and will end up playing a big role. I have significantly more confidence in Shanahan vs Harbaugh in getting the team prepared for this game. There's also the fact that there's a HoF coach lurking in the background assisting Kyle Shanahan on the side.

I feel like this is our X-Factor right here. We have Mike Shanahan and his experience on our side - loved the shots of him smiling in the suite while we whooped up on the Packers and him handing his son the NFCC trophy. I LOVE the fact that Jimmy G had one "extra" year to learn this offense alongside Mike and Kyle when he went down in 2018.

But to answer the question - After going through the last SB against the Ravens and convincing myself we would smash the Ravens (...which did not happen..), I have a cautiously optimistic confidence for this SB compared to the last one. KC is beatable. Similar to what the team understands they just "need to execute."

Its something in Harbaugh's wiring, there is a weird mental hangup in the big game. From college playing days, to the failed hail Mary as the QB for the Colts in the AFC Championship game, to the NFC Championship vs. the Giants and the SB vs Baltimore, and finally not being able to beat Ohio State. Something up stairs locks up in the big game.
Ravens D 2012 > Chiefs D 2019

Chiefs Offense 2019 > Ravens Offense 2012

49ers Defense 2019 > Chiefs Offense 2019 > Ravens Offense 2012
This one, easily. I was nervous as s**t versus Baltimore since they were hot, had our number, Justin Smith's and Aldon's injuries, and our stupid team kept saying dumb s**t during media week.

This time we have all of our important pieces intact, have better coaches and veteran leadership, and we've also played under every circumstance imaginable leading up to this game. Plus, I like that we're still being given little respect, which I feel bodes in our favor.

i mean rodgers was dialed in compared to cousins lol
This is unrelated - but I went to Univ of Texas @ Austin and was there for the Vince Young years. I HATED that the media crowned USC as the best college team ever, etc. etc. etc. I KNEW we had a chance to beat that team in the national championship game bc UT was dominant on both sides of the ball and had Vince Young. Game time happens - and Texas wins.

Same thing is happening here - Media is already all over KC and ready to crown them as best ever. Niners are dominant on both sides of the ball and have the IT factor. Hoping history repeats itself and Niners come out on top.

The ravens d made me nervous headed into that superbowl. Not so much feeling that with kc.
Definitely this year. The 2019 team feels special the way they keep finding different ways to win a game.
Even if we scored at the goal line at the end. Do we believe that the Ravens wouldn't have gone down into field goal range at the end with the way our D was playing?

There were a lot of "firsts" in that super bowl. All negative:

First time throwing an interception in the super bowl by a 49ers QB (Thanks Kap you f-----g turd)

First Super Bowl loss ever by the 49ers

First team to lose a super bowl scoring 30+ points
