Poll: More confident heading into XLVII or LIV?

This team for sure, 2012 I was very much 50/50. In 2012 Justin Smith was playing through a torn tricep, and Aldon was playing through a shoulder injury(forget exactly what it was). ALSO we had the Crabtree rape accusations the week before, and Culliver made some sort of derogatory comment about gay people. So the defense was banged up, and we had some off the field issues all at the wrong time. I also was worried we would come out flat like the NFC champ game (which we did).

I feel very confident in this team, everyone is talking about Mahomes and Company. Fine, let them ignore that our defense when healthy like it is now, is dominate at the LOS. Mahomes is going to be in for a rude awaking. KC will score, but they aren't dropping 40 on us, if they are fortunate they might get 30 something.

Nobody is talking about KCs defense vs our offense. How are they going to stop us? Sell out to stop the run (if they even can) and we throw it on them, drop 2 safeties back to help defend the pass and we will just run it on you.

Edit: Also in 2012 David Akers was kicking like dogs**t, Robbie has bounced back into form, so we are better there as well.

Oh and Kyle....miles better as a game planner and play caller.

I think this team needs Tartt to have a chance. I expect him to play but bummed to hear about the ribs. Back end tightened up a ton with him and Ford back. Kwon's return helped the underneath stuff. Even there, Greenlaw tweaked his ankle but looks to be a full go. They'll need his speed.
Much more confident against the Ravens. That 49ers team seemed destined to become a dynasty at the time and to be honest the Ravens just werent that good. Flacco played above his ability for a few games, otherwise we win.

On the other hand KC has been the best team in football over the last 16 months or so and Pat Mahomes is as good as any player in the league. I think this is the first time in our Super Bowl history that we are legitimately playing a team that is better than us.

That doesnt mean we cant win, the best team doesnt always win (as Eli Manning proved twice) but this one definitely scares me more
I'm more confident about this game.
I'm more confident about this game for sure. We are much more balance offensively and defensively. Also, healthwise we are almost 100%. Intuitively, I just feel this is our year ever since the game against the browns. Fwiw, I felt the same way about the giants in 2010,12,14

I dunno, up til a few weeks ago the ravens were supposedly the best team in football.

The one that infuriated me to this day, is the ticky tack PI they called on Us late in the 4th... it was 31-29 and we got a stop on 3rd down.... then the refs threw a flag for PI and Baltimore eventually kicked a field goal to go up by 5.

I only saw the game once but I know the play. Culliver right? I was pissed too.

Yup, it was on Culliver. It would've been 4th and 9 from Baltimore's 22 yard line with the ravens punting ahead by only 2.
This call rarely ever gets brought up. Made no sense since we were told that they "let them play" in the super bowl
I feel much better without Krappernick
The thing about this current team is that it's built on a more solid football principles. Comparing the 2 teams, the defenses are a wash as both are/were loaded with talent and coached well. Offensively though, it was a matter of time before that Greg Roman scheme got shut down, the Ravens were the first legit D we faced that whole playoff run, and we were catching undisciplined teams off guard with the pistol read option gimmick. This Shanahan WCO on the other hand is an entirely different beast.

We are facing a better more talented opponent this time around, but I feel we have a team that is much more solid in its philosophy and its mentality.
Ravens. Thought we were the superior team and would have played much better defense in SB
chiefs ? Overall we.re better but their O is so explosive i'm more concerned

This
Everyone keeps saying Ravens. But looking back at a lot of those SB previews, a lot of ppl picked the Ravens to win that game, it's not like we were some heavy favorites expected to steam roll them.

Peter King's SB article that year said "49ers lose, but Kaepernick will be in a lot more SBs"

I don't think I was ever confident about any Harbaugh team in the playoffs

How are they better than us? Our team is better than theirs. Our coaching is better than theirs. They have a better QB. But Jimmy G is not as made out to be in the media and sports radio talk shows. Jimmy is fine. Nobody is Mahomes. But our team is better overall.

Especially, with Kaepernick at QB.
