Lehs goooooo!!!!!

Based off of this video and a quote I think I heard in the last week on how every Chiefs play is designed to score a touchdown, it seems they always want to go for the knockout blow. If we play disciplined and force them into long drives, maybe they get impatient and make some mistakes trying to force the issue. Same thing with their defense against our offense.

Yeah, they love the chunk plays. They have a ton of drives with 17, 20, 25 yard plays.
When they don't have those, I don't have exact numbers, just going off a feel for what I saw, their scoring % goes wayyyyyy down.

I know that sounds like John Madden, "when this guy runs, he really moves faster" but more in that, they are not a good ball control offense.
We've shown this season that we can be ball control, be explosive and our defense feeds off other teams losing patience.
Play fast, play aggressive and play with extreme violence.

All gas no brakes.

Hi folks. What do you think our defense will do if Kansas City decide to use misdirection plays and rollouts to slow down the pass rush? It tended to work against us in the Ravens game and I think the second Seattle game. My guess is that Reid will go over all the plays that worked against us and incorporate them into his game plan.

I'd say it's hard to look at footage then vs the team now because we're healthy now whereas then we were beaten to shreds. It's a different defense especially with Kwon and Dee back in the lineup we may be able to counter it now.

Got to contain Mahomes - if he escapes the pocket, he's deadly throwing on the run.

Agreed. Turns out, it could've been great practice going against Murray, Wilson, and Lamar in five games.
Don't play Akello
Let woods coach the defense and saleh becomes the water boy.
get to Mahomes with 4 and 7 covering
The O-Line won't hold up against our pass rush so Mahomes is going to have to get it away quick or manoeuvre himself out of the pocket. If he gets out of the pocket that is when he can hit Hardman and Hill over the top. So you need to contain Mahomes in the pocket and take them chunk plays away. If Mahomes is contained to the pocket Kelce becomes his favourite target. So we need to be double teaming Kelce and trust the front four to do the majority of the work putting pressure on Mahomes.
The best way to defend Chiefs offense is with a relentless pass rush and good coverage on the back end. So if the defense does exactly what its been doing all season, we should be good.
We need to win for mahommes. Me thinks his head is getting too big for his body

The ravens and chiefs are very different in their offenses.

The KC passing game is closer to the Rams than the Chiefs, IMO. They look to stretch you deep, horizontally.

Then, when you start playing really soft zones, they start running screen passes.

I see them using more what the Cards did in their 2nd game against us. Look to get their speedsters the ball quickly.

The key to this game will be sure tackling.

We'll need to play soft zones to force Mahomes to check it down, then come up and make a tackle and same with the screen game.
If we do that, Mahomey will get impatient and either hold the ball for sacks or throw bad passes into coverage.
Better yet, we should completely change who we are. Play strictly man and blitz on every down. That is the only way to stop this Chiefs juggernaut offense.
