How to defend Chiefs Offense?

Better yet, we should completely change who we are. Play strictly man and blitz on every down. That is the only way to stop this Chiefs juggernaut offense.

Completely change who we are after going 15-3? Change the defense this late in the season and expect the players to have it down by game day? Not a good plan.

Yeah, just do what we've been doing - it's got us this far.

That was sarcasm. You should have known better, catchmaster. I have spent the last few days trying to convince others that we should trust in the scheme and philosophy that got us here. You were one of those posters I was trying to convince. Its no surprise though, I'm often ignored on this site anyway.

Distraction. Throw donuts at the Chiefs sideline.
If the defense forces Mahomes into second or third reads because the first option isn't open, it will give time to Bosa, Ford and Buckner to apply pressure. We don't need to sack him. We just need to make him feel uncomfortable.

I suspect Shanahan will use the same ground and pound offense he used so successfully against the Vikings and Packers. Why would you change anything that's worked so well?

The only way the Chiefs can force Shanahan out of that attack is to score quickly and often, as New Orleans did in the regular season. We went away from the run early because our depleted defense could not stop Drew Brees.

I don't see a repeat of the Saints game because the defense is healthy and rested. For all the talk about the KC offense, it is really one dimensional. Make Mahomes a non-factor and the 49ers win easily.

This, however, is easier said than done.
Titans did a good job for the first half.

Texans played well their first half as well. Both teams just screwed the pooch in the 3rd and 4th quarter . Failed Special team fakes. Fourth down fails. Fumbles on returns and kicks.
Johnnydel pointed it out in his preview video. If you can confuse Mahommes presnap - him thinking zone vs man, or vice versa, or cov 3 vs cov 2 etc, then he doesn't do as good of a job with his progression
Madden curse will get him
Didn't Saleh basically shut down the Chiefs in the second half last year? I'm pretty sure we outscored them in the second half.
Wait a damn minute. I just looked up the stats. We're ranked higher offensively than the Chiefs.

With that said...

Our best defense will be our offense. Run the ball and keep that offense on the sidelines

They only scored three points in the second half.

I honestly think we crawl back into that game if Jimmy hadn't gotten hurt.
I believe we're going to contain them early, then hold on for dear life in the second half. That's how it's seemed to play out all year, for whatever reason our defense is non existatant in the second half.

Will we have a big enough lead? Will we be able to run the ball?

A nice breakdown of how the chargers, Titans, Patriots did well defending the chiefs
shut down their run, keep Mahomes in a dirty pocket and make him hold on to the ball... don't let him slip out to the sides
