How to defend Chiefs Offense?

hit him early, hit him often and run the ball down their throats to keep the ball out of his hands longer.

This is the secret sauce.

they just talked s**t about Dee Ford, its his old team, i dont think they need to fire up this guy any more than he already is. Ward just hyped up the chiefs too and it seems like we are taking the high road and putting more wind in their imaginary sails so we can sink their ship on sunday. hopefully all this media love will make them big headed and careless

What was Clark thinking?:

"I just know he had lined up offside and anybody who lined up offside at a time like that I feel like that's a dumb penalty at the end of the day. I'm sure he feels the same way. Personally I've lined up offside before but not in that type of (situation) ... In any (situation) that's just something that shouldn't happen.''

Why give the fastest man off the snap in the NFL any fuel to get to your QB any faster than he already will?

because Clark is a douchebag trying to make a name for himself like Dee already did. all he's doing is upping the ante for Ford to tee off on Mahomes on sunday. they already know hes coming but now Dee is gonna have a little more fire in his belly to get home and wreck the chiefs

Don't let Mahomes extend plays...keep him in the pocket. Play disciplined football and like all yr take away the deep ball.

Ward is gonna have to continue what he's done this yr. Attack Mahomes with just 4 guys up front. Throw in some run blitzes to take away lanes if you think he's gonna start running it.

Most of all, run the ball. Keep him on the sidelines. Limit the amount of series they actually get to have. What we do on offense is just as important.

This is it. Keep mahomes contained...in the pocket. His big plays always come from being on the run.
Keep him in the pocket and he becomes very pedestrian,

😉👍
I do think it will be very effective if we hit his WRs once he breaks contain on the pocket, especially Kelce. Hard to throw to a guy if they have been knocked down or out of bounds during a play. Just some thoughts to help the defense out against this offense

Yes we have to keep the edge and keep him in the pocket. Force him inside. He can really throw from the pocket and is a very good QB there. But he is all universe outside the pocket. Much like Russell Wilson. Force him in. Keep him inside. Don't let him out on the edges. If a broken play goes for 50 yards, 70 yards, 80 yards and a TD you can bet there is a 90% chance he is outside the pocket on that play. Could he do it inside the pocket? Sure he could. But I would take my chances keeping him there.

You guys realize that Mahomes is nowhere near as fast and elusive as Wilson. With how fast our dline and lbs are he's not going to be running wild for one or running around juking defenders like Wilson does year after year. You guys are blinded how slow and poor fundamentals the Titans had on that Mahomes td run, look at it again how slow Mahomes is really. Just need the secondary to cover long enough when Mahomes is running for his life even tho I feel or dline will track him down quick. Eventually Mahomes will start throwing into coverage forcing things after getting constantly pressured, he seems like the type who will trust his arm way too much when the right dline goes against him and this is one he hasn't seen his whole career

Fast no, quick , YES. So keep him contained, adn don't let him improvise on the run where the bulk of his good plays come from. It is hard to conceive Buck, ARik, Dee and Nick will let him get away very often if at all.

I find it hard to believe Mahomes is as quick as Wilson. Wilson's first step and quickness in small areas is what makes him almost impossible to grab in the pocket.

Which is why Kap struggled. He had open field straight line speed, but zero quickness or mobility with those long ass legs.
In rewatching 3 of the chiefs games, it is pretty apparent that mahomes is as quick as anyone out there. Striking how he and Russ W are both so quick. RW has lost his fastness, but mahomes still has his. First off the dime tho, i honestly can't see much difference. But that is by eyeballs, not stopwatches.

The fascinating and by far most important issue will be just how fast our Dee-Arik—Buck- Nick DL can get to him. Just an opinion, but if they get there quick enough, then that decides the game. Question is how fast is "fast enough"?

That is what i am waiting to see.
Let Dee Ford catch him and sometimes blitz him up the middle!
