How to defend Chiefs Offense?

I think what we should do, is position our players between the chiefs players and the endzone behind us, because that's where the chiefs are trying to get to.

Then if a chiefs player tries to run forward with the ball, our defenders should run up to him (or her) and drag him down to the ground as soon as they can. They should run to the chief as fast as they can, because the faster they get there, the less progress they will make towards scoring.

Another stategy they can employ in the passing came, is try to knock the ball down with their hands.

My idea I thought of as well, I remember that game. We shut Marino and his Magic Markers DOWN !! We left Keena Turner as the lone LB, and left Fred Dean in der at LDE all day. Had the Fab 4 in secondary, with a nickel CB (Mario Clark) and Safety (Holmoe or Fuller alternated). The 2019 49ers., Kwon and Warner can Alternate at the 1 LBer (Keena Turners spot). Secondary can stay the same. Keep K. Williams at nickel CB. Alternate Witherspoon and DJ Reed in at 6th spot.

Man to Man seems impossible with their speed and then it will tire our guys out and Sherm would probably be exposed. Zone might leave some holes open and Mahomes could pick us apart. What do you guys think?

We CAN stop them with constant pressure on Mahomes. His stats are just ok under duress. We can't do what the Titans did with a 3 man front thinking the extra DB would help. Mahomes with extra time and any separation is a laser throw to the receiver.

I actually think man to man will be more effective on the edges with the safety help on the deep shots.

Not a bad idea at all...

Don't let Mahomes extend plays...keep him in the pocket. Play disciplined football and like all yr take away the deep ball.

Ward is gonna have to continue what he's done this yr. Attack Mahomes with just 4 guys up front. Throw in some run blitzes to take away lanes if you think he's gonna start running it.

Most of all, run the ball. Keep him on the sidelines. Limit the amount of series they actually get to have. What we do on offense is just as important.

I'd rather have greenlaw on the field than reed or witherspoon.
- Get in Mahomes face quickly before his WR can get downfield.

- Hit him legally as often as possible.

- Get physical with Kelce to take away Mahomes easy escape route.

- Stay disciplined so Mahomes can't run around us.

- Put a child on the field so Hill gets an unnecessary roughness flag every play.

- Control the tempo and ball.

- No mistakes, field position is crucial. Can't afford to giveaway cheap points.

- Run, run, run, exploit confused coverage with Kittle, Deebo, Sanders.

- Hope that Andy Reid does an Andy Reid and cracks under the pressure.

Considering this was 31 games ago, and a totally different defense, I think were good to avoid that.

D started Marsh, Solomon, Weatherpoon, Foster, Malcom Smith, Exum Jr, and a recovering Sherman.
O started Morris, Bourne, Goodwin, Celek, and a rookie Mcglinchy.
We lost Jimmy during a comeback late in the 4th.

A red hot Chiefs team with Hunt rolled that 49er team in the 1st half. 2nd half was much closer.

One option could be T. Moore rather than Witherspoon. Tavarious has 4.32 speed. Fast as Tyreek Hill.

Yeah, Niners will need a lot of speed and fresh legs available to run with the KC receivers. I can also see them man-up Kelce.

I wouldn't take much from the 2nd half cuz KC was so far ahead they snoozed a bit after the 1st half.

I think the point is that there's not much to take from that game period.

Both teams have made major roster changes and this SB won't be played in Arrowhead.
