if you watch niner games at a bar you're just a bandwagon fan.

This is a terrible take.

First off, many 49er fans live out of area so the only choice is to buy NFL Sunday Ticket or go to a bar. Its the only option for lots of people.

Second, places like San Diego have amazing 49er bars. Moonshine Beach (formerly Typhoon Saloon) in Pacific Beach is a full on 49ers bar. They put the games on a massive projection screen along with all of the other TVs (no matter what other games are currently playing) and have the game audio on. Watching games there is the most fun I've ever had watching the niners. Its nothing but other people who love this team. It also adds so much more drama and excitement to the game. Watched all of the playoff games from 2011-2013 there. I haven't missed a 49ers game since 2003, so, watching at a bar surely does not make me a "bandwagon fan."

Finally, just because you like to watch the games a certain way that differs from others does not make others less die hard in their fanaticism for this team. We all love this team but may like to consume the games in a different manner. No need to go at people for it.

I probably can't get 10 games a year on TV. I only get about 6 of them or so. Like Sunday night, Monday night, Thursday night, nationally televised game out of area. But that doesn't happen every week. I like watching at home or at my brothers. But a lot of times I have to go to sports bars during the year. During the playoffs I watch with my brother usually. I hate the sports bars for playoffs because you have opposing fans around and they annoy me. During the year and regular season I can tolerate it. I don't have Sunday Ticket. I wish you could get Sunday Ticket streaming on your computer. I hate the satellite dish thing. Because in my particular area there are some canyons and a building that blocks the reception. I can't get it really good here. I even looked into it. At least in the past they were not able to hook it up here. Due to lack of reception. I just hate that satellite dish thing. I wish it was connected cable or streaming on a computer. Allow some different ways.

my parents always have a big to do for the Soup A Bowl, that's where I'll be with IPA's and Flor De Cana Rum from Nicaragua
I live in Oregon now so I buy the Sunday Ticket package. It cost me about $200 per year after talking them down on the price. It would cost me more to go to a bar if I counted up the price of gas and the cost of food and drinks. My recliner is way more comfortable than a bar stool. I'm an older guy and I don't like loud crowds anymore. When I was younger and had season tickets I enjoyed the party atmosphere at the games but I guess my tastes have changed.

I guess I'm a bandwagon fan. I've always watched Niner games at the bar cause I'm usually the only Niner fan there so I want to represent! Plus my friends love how crazy I am during those games.

You get a pass.

Wait, you have to put some caveats on that.

In college, my only option was to go to a bar or restaurant, since I was 350 miles from the Bay. Every Sunday was the same, show up at Red Robins 20 minutes before kickoff, order a River Whiskey Burger and bottom less fries, then sit there for the next 3.5 hours....And I didn't even drink. The bartender and waitresses probably hated me....

Next block over my Kansas City friends are having a huge blow out. We live at the beach in LA. They are flying in food from KC. I will be watching the game there, but at any point I can walk back to my house and watch it alone. It will be a great match up, but I give us the win because of our D. Tho I really want to see Jimmy light it up!

Go 9ers!
With my butthole clenched...

Lmao @ the statement that going to bars makes you a bandwagon fan.......

Tons of fan groups meet at bars, the best times are had with big groups of fans together even if you're not rooting for the same teams.

Sounds like someone has an anti social disorder
It would be dope to watch at a "Niners sports bar" but not at just any random bar with other people who aren't Niners fans. I don't know any Niners bars where I live though.

I got invited to a party that I've been to before for 3 or 4 super bowls, but never when the Niners were playing. I had to decline this year, I can't be around people who aren't diehard Niners fans for a game this big. s**t, I usually feel that way for a regular season game too lol. I had to explain that to the person who invited me, I don't think she understands though.

That's exactly what I'll be doing. That's how I've watched every game this year, except the game on Halloween I was there in person to watch.

Good idea on showing her this thread haha
