The refs didn't do their jobs end of the day. IF you're gonna "let them play" that's a MASSIVE advantage for KC. They get to hold our dominant DL all game and allow the best QB in football to sling it. That's negating one of the most important things SF does.

It's also a disadvantage to scheme heavy offenses. Holding is the best way to offset an offense that relies on extreme detail and coordination between the quarterback and receiver.

The era of the timing-based offense is a thing of the past thanks to the new rules.

You may be right, but holding is still against the rules. Enforce the rules evenly and everything changes.

Wtf, Where you coming up with this s**t?

It's maybe not my personal choice, but I don't get to decide what people want. But, honesty, at this point in their careers it's no contest.

If it was only that easy.

Probably because nobody was buying their crap before they won. I doubt their selling much in California or on the east coast. Haven't seen even one person wearing Chiefs gear but I don't live in Missouri or Kansas.

As long as the Chiefs stay relevant, the marketing machine and media will handle the rest.

It was obvious from day one that wanted Mahomes.
The good thing about this thread is that we all agree 100% the officiating certainly influenced the outcome of this game BUT it could have been overcome too.

Kyle and this team have a grand opportunity to use that to their advantage and fix the late 4Q collapses by the defense and build out a no-mercy offense and give the NFL HQ's the ultimate middle finger.

Offensive holding is called a lot less in the postseason period. This stat is a few years old but in general there are 1.2 fewer offensive holding calls per game from regular season to postseason. That dropoff is more than any other penalty. It's the playoffs they let them play. People don't want to see 30 yard gains wiped out from a little grab.

Letting them play would mean not calling that ticky-tack false start on Staley that nobody on the Chiefs defense even noticed.

"Letting them play" combined with "score more points for a more exciting game" would also mean not calling that OPI on Kittle before halftime.

Doesn't even have to be evenly, I'm just asking that they call the ones that everyone on the planet can see!!!

Yep and that was the ball game. We could've of course won in many other ways however these non-calls gave the Chiefs the ball back or extended their drives and gave us less time. (Essentially giving the Chiefs more time to catch up) If they just got two penalties right we could've probably ran off at least four minutes and that's without a single first down.

"Game over man. Game over!"
I knew it was over when Bosa was held and holmes had time to throw.
