Sometimes I wish I could keep myself from being so emotionally invested, but I really don't know any other way. It makes the wins feel that much greater, but the big losses are absolutely soul-crushing. I could barely make it into work today..

If you'd have told me that THIS team would go to the SUPERBOWL? I'd have died laughing.
But we DID have a winning record, we DID make the playoffs and damnit.. we DID go to the Superbowl. Yes, losing stings. It stings real bad. That said, we need to take stock of where this team has been in the last 5 years. We went from the highs of the Superbowl into some of the worst teams the NFL has ever seen. Jed then brought in Lynch and Shanahan... and we fooking roasted him for it. But Jed also did what he said he would do... stepped back and let football people do football.
And look where it got us. For that, I say thank you. I say thank you to Jed York, to Lynch, to Shanahan, to all the coaches and mostly to the players. YOU brought this once proud franchise back from the dead and into the light! YOU made us contenders again and did so in only 3 seasons.
NOW.. to the bandwagon fans...
Get the fook out of here. We don't need you. Levis was a ghost town until we started winning. Y'all were all up on Lynch and Shanny's jocks until we lost last night. Did we blow some plays? Yes. Were there some questionable play calls.. sure. But did any of you REALLY think a 10 point lead with a full quarter to play was safe against Mahomes? I sure didn't. We seen him against Houston and then against Tennessee. This was not a surprise. Shocking to watch yes, but a surprise no... So now y'all are up in here blaming Shanahan.. blaming Lynch and blaming Jimmy G for this loss. Perhaps we need to just give a nod to Andy Reid and the Kansas City Chiefs and realise that ON THE NIGHT, they were in fact the better team. But being bandwagon fans, you are too stupid to comprehend that. So get the hell out.
I have been a fan since the Steve DeBerg days... I have seen the lowest of the lows and the highest of the highs, but one thing remains...
I am ALWAYS faithful.
I love Bandwagon Santa Clara fans...they tipify true 9er fans.

Never said football was life. But I would rather be blown out Denver style in 2013 than lose the way we did last night. At least in the former scenario, you tip your cap and unequivocally say the better team won. This stings.

We'Ll bE bAcK nExT yEaR!!!!!!!!
Since Bills lost 4 straight Super Bowls from 1990-93 seasons the only Super Bowl loser to make it back the next year was 2017 Patriots, who won title year after losing to Eagles

Probably the same people that thought Baalke was a great GM and Tomsula was a great hire.
Sorry NT, but Jimmy is trash and we blew the game, we got every reason to be pissed.

I was borderline depressed after 2012 which was ridiculous to be honest. I put so much emotion into that team because all I had known was bad 49er football since I was 7 years old. Since then I got to watch lebron celebrate on the floor of oracle arena when the cavs had been down 3 games to 1. And I watched my college basketball team lose because they missed some free throws to Auburn who went on to be in the final four. I'm used to the sting of it at this point. I'm more annoyed at this one than anything because it isn't a lock that the Niners will be back in a year or two like you expect from the patriots.

My heart hurts so bad this morning. Getting to the super bowl is so hard to do. Who knows when we'll get back. Everything was laid out perfectly for us this season. Who knows what will happen next season

I'm hurting today but we won 4 games last year and came about 6 minutes from winning the whole damn thing. Stay Faithful. Go Niners

Like I said in my original post... This stings real bad... I went to my first game at The Stick with my dad when I was 7 years old. I am 49 now. I have lived through the pre Montana dark days.. the team of the eighties, the dominant teams of the early and mid nineties... the Mooch era... The Erickson era and we all know the recent history. Been there, done that and got the T shirt. I am absolutely beside myself today, but I just wanted to shed some perspective. And we absolutely DO have a s**te ton of bandwagon fans.. possibly even more than Seattle!

In hind sight we have all the answers. The beauty of sports is it mirrors life. We all f**k up and lose our own Super Bowls and look back and wish we coulda changed things. But I'm the end the only way to get better in life or football is to acknowledge your mistakes and learn from them. This team is the equivalent of a 15 year old who just failed their drivers test. Both are very young and have a lot to learn. This team is built for the long haul and will be a power house for the next decade plus.
