I don't get the willingness to let Ward leave. He was the #6 rated safety this past season. With only one pick in the first four rounds, and serious needs at C/G and WR speed, who would replace Ward at safety?

Question our philosophy if we want to do this the inherently "right" way with high character guys...
...or pick up pieces of crap players like Tyreek Hill who are very talented but known wife and child beaters.

Garoppolo can't throw outside the numbers, so whats the point? AB would b***h and throw a tantrum after the first offensive series

Is AB going to throw himself the ball? Because the tape shows that guys were open yesterday.
I love Jimmy, but he needs to play better. The fact that everything outside the numbers is virtually nonexistent AND that he missed guys wide open over the middle is not good.

Maybe kick the tires on Josh Rosen. He will be super cheap. Low value. A nice QB3 who can compete with Mullens. Can kick Beathard off the roster.
And then who knows? Maybe Kyle can develop him into a piece. He seems to constantly be in a bad situation

I think if Tua is available at our pick, I hope he gets some consideration after watching this film.
He won't be available though, so it's pointless speculation

#1 don't panic and over react. We lost a close game that went down to the wire.

This. I feel like we have had a lack of playmaking ability at safety since goldson and whitner left. Sure you always hear "if you don't hear about a corner/safety that means its a good thing". But look at what Budda Baker brings to the table. Our last safety in the pro bowl was Bethea in 2014 and before that it was goldson and whitner in 2012. I know pro bowl isn't everything but we just haven't had a high enough level of play at that level imo.

The ideal plan:
1. Extend Lynch and Shanny
2. Give pay raises to the front office staff tied to talent evaluation: Peters and Mayhew
3. Restructure and/or extend McKinnon, Jimmy, Kwon, Ford, and Sherman to help the cap.
4. Resign Ward, Garland, Moore, Day, and Blair.
5. Resign Armstead and Sanders if the price is reasonable
6. Extend Kittle and Buckner
Agree. And if Jimmy doesn't want to restructure after this crap, then find another solution. There are plenty of Matt Schaubs out there that Kyle can scheme up and make them look like fools gold
Matt Schaub? LOL, yes, the 49ers need the next Matt Schaub to get better than 13-3 and a SB appearance.
Maybe bring back Hoyer too.
