Blame game : what was the defining moment of our loss ?

Shanny and Jimmy G get the blame.

Shanny playing scared at the end of the half showed zero confidence in the offense. And his 2 called runs with a 10-pt lead in the 4th is irresponsible. Eerily similar to his play calling when Atlanta loss their lead in the SB.

And Jimmy G needs to read the defense better and hit his throws. He missed Kittle 3-4x open during the game - looking elsewhere when Kittle should always be the first option. The YAC yards weren't there because he was inaccurate on 2-3 throws. And that overthrow to Sanders on 3 & 10 is the most evident.

But all said and done, Jimmy G will be better next season. Matt Ryan struggled in his first year in Shanny's system. It's a tough system to grasp. And in turn, Shanny will trust Jimmy G more.

I chose "most of the above", but really, it was a combination of all of the above! Still can't believe we lost. will be in a depression this whole week. Some of you have wives, or kids/families to help take the sting off. For me, living alone, 49ers are my life 24 hrs/day. Reading about them, listening to talk shows about them, watching talk shows about 49ers/football... Ugh... This will sting for awhile. I need to find other things other than just be consumed by a football team. It's these kind of losses that make you wonder if it's worth it to spend all your time on this one team.

Chiefs just made the plays defensively in the last 8 minutes to give Mahomes a couple extra possessions and steal the game. Tip my cap to them.

Only real gripe is not calling the timeout at the end of the first half.

This hurts.

I just thought of another big point in the game. Moore's INT after we had taken a 10 point lead. We had the ball back around midfield with a chance to put the game away with another TD drive or at least a clock eating drive that ended with a FG. Instead we got nothing. It seemed like the Niners started celebrating a little too soon and took their foot off the gas. The offense and defense were terrible in the last 8 minutes of the game.

The first half jitters (James almost fumble, JG int, and Kyle's p***y ball to end the half).

49ers D couldn't stop Patrick Mahomes in the 4th quarter.

The 3rd and 15 with an absolutely blatant hold on bosa. It's 3rd and 25 if they call that. If bosa isn't held he sacks Mahomes. Complete game changer and I knew we weren't winning at that point.

A good argument can be made for each of the choices. I'm going with giving up the 3rd and 15. The defense played great for 3.5 quarters so I'm not putting the loss on the defense, but that play was what swung the momentum at a critical time. Damn that hurt watching Hill just run through the zones untouched, no one re-routing him.

That 3rd and 15 conversion by KC was the nail in the coffin. Yes Jimmy missing Sanders was bad too but that conversion on 3rd and 15 literally changed the energy and momentum 1000% into the Chiefs direction. It was a major dagger and we just bled out. Our guys just weren't experienced enough to mentally overcome that. If that play isn't converted we would all be having a completely different conversation today.

I picked the 3rd and 15 cause that play gave Mahomes his confidence back. Before that he was shaken and was missing on passes. After that play the switch was on.

I'm in the same boat. I think I've actually come to realize that's it's just a game in the end, and we have absolutely no control over anything. I'm 100% Still a fan But hours and hours of reading and watching videos throughout every week of the year is just too much now that I look at it and then these close SuperBowl losses and nfc championship game losses just sting too much. And don't start golf lol, takes up way too much time and takes wayyy longer than other sports/hobbies to get above average haha
