This is such a stupid thread. You think shanahan and the team were enjoying the party? They are angry and hungry for next season. We need to destroy the rest of the league for screwing us this super bowl. Show no mercy to nobody. Sherman Staley jimmy g deco bosa ford kwon warmer are gonna be hungry next season. We have a young squad solid coaching staff. What doesn't kill us makes us stronger

Did you see the video clips? A few players looked as giddy as can be

A few. So stop putting out the agenda that shanahan and the boys aren't angry about this. I swear I'm done with this garbage liar media. I'm done. All this fanbase does is bash shanahan jimmy g all day. We have the worst fanbase in the nfl

I think the JG opinion is thoroughly mixed and I came out supporting him within 24 hours of the loss. He just finished his first full year as starter so his inexperience was too much for the moment to have a SB title on his shoulders. The loss stings but I can understand and accept that. KS on the other hand, has much less wiggle room...he's a very good coach but the guy just took a huge step in gaining a reputation for choking in SBs including last Sunday as a HC and there's not much he can excuse it on now because he went away from his bread and butter running game BOTH times. His game plan proved anemic despite going against Spags very average-crap D and he never got his offensive stars involved early. Kittle is the best TE in the league and they brought Sanders in a couple of months ago for a specfic purpose and yet they were both non-factors the entire game. KS is certainly no genius until or unless he proves otherwise.

I bet Staley was there as a good teammate and being a good sport, but I can't see him thinking that the party was a good idea. Not at this point in his career, not with his last chance at a ring slipping away.

I had this conversation with my teenage daughter this morning. She's a soccer player.

Her: "So why are people upset that the 49ers had that party after the Super Bowl?"
Me: "Because it sends the wrong idea that you are rewarding a loss."
Her: "Yeah, but they made it to the Super Bowl."
Me: "Let me put it this way, if your team lost the Valley Championship would you have a party?"
Her: "Oh no, we would be crying, we definitely wouldn't have a party. Yeah I wouldn't be in the mood to celebrate. That was a really bad idea."
Me: "Exactly. I don't get it. "

Don't get me wrong. The Niners accomplished more than any of us really expected this year. The future is bright. Shanny made some bizarre decisions but he is still and excellent coach and will have many, many years of success in this league. I just don't understand this decision. I wish they would have asked Lott what he thought about it on the radio this morning. I can't see him being OK with it. The standard for this organization is much higher.

During the dynasty years it was much higher. However, currently it's not. Jed is certainly no Eddie D, his tenure has been occupied primarily by losing seasons and bad teams and the "SB win or bust" mentality is looooong gone.

Harsh. But reasonable as well. I thought the inability to make kc pay for overloading mostert was the biggest nail in the coffin for us.
