After an amazing season this year, it still baffles me all the negativity and blame going around. This is a team game and our 49ers showed that they will not point blame to one single person or play.

After a 4-12 2018 season, I am blown away by a 13-3 season where we had the lead all the way down to 3 minutes remaining in the Super Bowl.

I get it - it hurts we lost. Point taken. I moped the night of losing the Super Bowl. But, winners don't sulk in losing. They learn. They use it as experience. They use it as motivation. And, Frank Clark, we see you; we hear you. Keep tossing logs on this fire of ours. All the more motivation for wanting a rematch next year.

Already we hear a prediction of an 8-8 Dallas team supposedly going to the Super Bowl next year to play against the Chiefs. Thank you for continuing to downplay an amazing season for the 49ers. More logs. Bigger and brighter fire.

These guys play for each other. They pay for their coach and GM. One thing I've learned from the Giants and Warriors winning it all - be wary of a strong, tight team that plays for each other. They're always hungry. They're always ready to prove their doubters.

Lastly, moving to NYC back in August 2018 and I had wanted to try and make it either the Washington or Baltimore game this year, but couldn't. Now, 2 games in New Jersey and one in Foxborough. I'm definitely going to the 2 in Jersey! Will see if I can make it to Foxborough. Gonna be representing this kick-ass LEGENDARY team of ours!

All of this! Right on, brother! And I'm hoping to be at those two NY games, too!

Of course

wrong

Expand lol

nope
This is off topic...but moving forward, if we do keep Armstead, our DL should be nicknamed...

THE LAW FIRM of BOSA, BUCKNER, ARMSTEAD and FORD.

Credit The Rock for it but when I heard it on Sunday during his pregame intro, I got fired up. It's by far the best nickname I've heard to date.

What do you say, Faithful???
This thread is positive, see y'all in nyc for the Jets and Boston trip ....

Roger Craig fumbling. Remember that

I think we have a forum full of Pulitzer winners, Nobel Prize winners, etc. We just have people that have succeeded at the highest of levels. People that are the toast of their professions. And never ever failing. It's amazing.

Or coaches didnt go full retard

Win or lose, we would've been looking to win the Super Bowl in the 2020 season.

Titles are the top accomplishment, but they aren't the only accomplishment.

As a fan, it's the only one I care about. Players come and go, while the club sits at 0-2 and a bunch of losing seasons since 1994. If they want to say stuff like that to pump themselves up, cool, I get it. With that said, if it's supposed to be aimed at the fans, then I really couldn't care less. Just put up or shut up; you already choked away one title, and history doesn't favor a return trip happening.

You didn't say title, you said didn't accomplish jack.

Everyone wants titles, not everyone gets them. It doesn't mean they accomplished nothing.

It takes a lot of small goals to reach the bigger ones. Not everyone reaches the top rung of the ladder though.

It's implied when these guys are talking about a revenge tour, but if you really want me to say "title" then ok, "title."

So you are pretty much upset all the time, except for 5 seasons. I'd have to give up watching football with that perspective.

This. The team was looking to compete this upcoming season, just luck had us a year early.

The one thing you will see next season during the legendary revenge tour is less celebrating during INT's and TD's. It's cool and all but a Lion doesn't have to tell you he is a lion.

I think there will be less because they expect to win now. It was all new to them in 2019.

I never liked those...I know all teams have been doing it but I wish we definitely didn't pull that in the SB before the game was over. It was a huge play at the time but KC didn't do that when they picked off Jimmy earlier.

It's in the past and obviously hindsight is 20/20 but maybe this loss will be a beneficial long term.

Nah, I just don't want to hear this from chokers, especially when they were the better team. The path will never be easier than it was this time, but yeah, "revenge tour y'all! Get hyped!"
Obviously the Super Bowl loser has almost never returned the next year but how can you not love George Kittle? If nothing else that guy has passion and fire for years on end.

I know they're not the norm but Pats did it last year.

Obviously a lot of it relies on health of our roster, schedule, state of the conference and of course the play of the QB and D.

Jimmy is going to need to take a big step forward. Hopefully he will do just that. Hard to say what our defense will look like next season but they still have the bulk of their key starters and likely will be a top 10 D again.

If we can get our offense to take another step forward - hopefully with more consistency from the passing attack all year long. We'll have a shot at it.

First step is making the playoffs again. After that it's a tough ask but it's doable.

Need to crush it in free agency and the draft and it won't be easy given our limited cap space and low and limited draft picks.
I believe we CAN make it back next year, but it depends heavily on a number of key factors:

1) Jimmy's progression. He's obviously not totally there, but it's not like he has tons of experience as a starter. Mahomes has more starting XP than Jimmy, and it showed (yeah, we all know he's more talented too).

2) Progression of other young players (McGlinchey, Deebo, Dwelley, Skule, T-Moore, Moseley, Greenlaw, Givens) and the return to health for others (Richburg, Hurd, Trent Taylor, McKinnon maybe, Blair maybe)

3) Off-season acquisitions. We know our LB depth badly needs to be addressed. Our starters are good, but the three backups are special teams guys at best. We still need a hybrid safety who can play FS/SS so we have depth behind Moore and Tartt if Ward doesn't return. We meed more insurance on the DL for pass rush. Regardless if Sanders comes back, we need an electrifying speed element at WR/returner. James doesn't consistently contribute enough on offense to keep a roster spot next year, in my opinion.
