LDE/W9: Arik Armstead; Dee Ford & Alex Barrett
2i: D.J. Jones; Jullian Taylor & Kentavius Street
3T: Solomon Thomas; Kevin Givens, Willie Henry Jr. & Ray Smith
RDE/W9: Nick Bosa; Ronald Blair & Jonathan Kongbo

Only really read up on Kongbo, and didn't find anything particular impressive or anything that led me to believe he'll challenge for a spot.

Yeah, I try to pay attention a tad more to these unknowns given the success we've had with UDFA and late round picks esp. as the roster gets tighter and with a few key loses.

I don't think we should sleep on Kevin Givens. Kid fits the both interior spots pretty well. He doesn't have quite the mass of DJ Jones, but his quickness and initial burst is elite. He had draft-worthy athletic traits and production, he just fell through the cracks honestly last year. I imagine in part due to his smaller size at 6-1 285.

He came out as a junior so sure, he still needed refinement in some areas, but the guy had 10.5 TFL and 5 sacks that year. He threw up 32 reps on the bench at the combine, same as Ed Oliver who weighed in at 6-2 281. If you look at the two, there are a lot of similarities. One went Top 10, the other undrafted. Wouldn't be shocked if Givens made a name for himself one day. We'll see.

I agree. I think he will show up next year and why I think they went with AA over Buck. He has the potential.
Somebody on the DL has to step up. Taylor, Street, Givens, Moore....

If Day comes back on a low end deal, that's a signal that the other guys aren't ready.

The team needs ~$5m cap space to sign the two first-rounders - that's give 53 players signed (our top-51 cutoff is at 750k, the late-round rookies are paid less). The leftover $5m is accounted for by the PUP/IR and practice squad.

The following non-essential players could be cut/traded with no or low dead money hit:
TColeman, Goodwin, Bourne , Breida - totals $15m, not accounting for replacements.

There's some further reserve that requires restructuring the contracts of Garoppolo ($15M), Ford ($10m), or Staley ($5m).

It would be nice if D. Moore, Givens and Taylor had big years

You are correct!

They gotta sign him first. Hope they aren't relying on Blair's ACL.

Rollins and Holland aren't on the roster, missing Benjamin on the WR depth chart, also I'd have Walker ahead of Flannigan-Fowles(who actually was listed as a SLB in camp last year), since he started 11 games over Hassan Reddick in 2019.

My early projected 53 man roster(goes up to 55 each week with 2 added practice squaders to the roster)

QB: Jimmy, Mullens, Beathard
RB: Mostert, Coleman, Wilson, McKinnon
FB: Juice
WR: Deebo, Bourne, Taylor, Pettis, Hurd, Rookie, Benjamin
TE: Kittle, Dwelley
OL: Staley, Tomlinson, Richburg, Brunskill, McGlinchey, Garland, Coleman, Compton, Rookie

DL: Ford, Bosa, Thomas, Jones, Armstead, Blair, Hyder, Street, Taylor(Could be PUP for first 6 weeks due to ACL, which would leave a spot for Kevin Givens or a Rookie pick)
LB: Kwon, Warner, Greenlaw, Walker, Rookie
CB: Sherman, Moseley, Williams, Rookie, Witherspoon, Reed
S: Ward, Tartt, Moore, Harris/Rookie

ST: Gould, Wish, Nelson

With the new rules, the team will carry 8 OL on their 48-man active gameday roster by rule one of the 2 extra spots needs to be a OL. The other would be either a WR or a RB IMO.

I have Breida being let go, maybe in a trade for a future pick, 2 TEs with Hurd as the 3rd on game days.

Usual inactives would be Beathard(Honestly don't know why I have him, just a feeling Shanny keeps 3 QBs again, hoping I'm wrong, and we keep an extra LB or DL), Rookie WR depending on where he's picked, Rookie OL, Reed, the 5th would be the hardest to choose, either Wilson/McKinnon or a DL.

Done! Great eye as always.

Towards the end of the season, they signed:
CB Quinten Rollins - Signed to a 1-year deal
CB Jordan Holland - Signed to a 3-year deal

Did they end up cutting them? Just curious.

I love it...95% of the roster is already set it seems, no doubt.

Those 2 were last August signings, not at end of the 2019 season.

So odd. Must have been a carry over I forgot to delete. Thanks!
