You talking about the Rams' Jalen Ramsey?
Eric Davis on Dante Pettis and Matt Breida:

"Pettis is gone! I think Breida is gone... they were both healthy scratches at the Superbowl...I can win this without you."

His top team needs: ER & DB on defense and OL for offense.

This man gets it!

Brieda is a solid 3rd back and pettis is garbage

Defensive needs:
1. CB - I think the next step for this defense is getting CBs that can man cover to add that element to the coverage. It takes an entire secondary to play man so let's start acquiring them.
2. Edge depth - If the team wants RBlair back (UFA) it should be easy. I doubt another team pays him anything substantial since he'll be rehabbing half of 2020. Need some young blood here to hopefully grow into the 3rd DE role.
3. Nose Tackle depth - SDay is a UFA but isn't really a run stopper. DJJones can't finish a season. Need a backup stout run defender if KStreet isn't that guy.

Offensive needs:
1. Speed at WR - have to get defenses to back up a bit from crowding the middle of the field
2. upgrade Right Guard - Person's pass blocking leaves a lot to be desired. If Brunskill is that guy, then go for OT depth.
3. OTackle depth - Skule is okay, but needs to get better. Some vet depth to push him will be good in case Skule takes awhile to develop.

100 percent agree on everything above.

The host on that podcast covered it as his primary need but ED felt OL was slightly more important. The guy ultimately agreed.

Both are cheap too. Perhaps they can still reestablish a role going forward.
I have to confess that I don't get what happened to Breida at all. He was an important part of the offense in both 2018 and in the early part of this year and then suddenly fell completely out of the rotation. I know he was banged up a bit and had a stretch where he put the ball on the ground a couple of times but even with the emergence of Mostert Brieda has the speed and ability to be a contributor. I wonder what went on behind the scenes to cause him to fall out of favor with Shanahan.

Honestly, that was an odd one for me too. It certainly seemed that both he and Pettis got in that doghouse and I don't know if a player can get out of it...only Bourne.

Breida seemed to be a holding onto the ball issue. Pettis just didn't not take advantage of the opportunity given to him. Sucks. You can hear the disappointment in KS voice when talking about him. He stresses it is not an effort issue, but rather a performance and urgency issue, I just don't get it. Bummer.
NC...dayam man, big-time tip o' the cap. That's a lot to digest, for sure. Isn't it cool we have Paraag to orchestrate it. Have complete confidence in him. Besides how Belichick plays the draft (like a fiddle), we can also look to the hated Seahawks up north. Similar situation WRT Armstead & how Seattle tagged then traded Frank Clark to the Chiefs. I agree, it's going to be hard to re-sign AA...without sacrificing other players our braintrust wants to keep. Garnering extra draft picks is a great idea IF you have a totally executable plan. It's likely going to take a combination of player releases, trades and restructuring to get Lynch enough picks & capital to not just maintain where the team's at right now, but improve the roster to absolute killer status. One of the mistakes previous SB teams have made is cap mismanagement...and/or not having brilliant people like Paraag in their front office to navigate it. I like our chances. Again, great effort to put all that plethora of info together. Five stars!

Thanks man. I really appreciate it. I pull in AB's site, OTC, Twitter references, etc.

Believe me, Post #48 was done more so 'I' could understand our options in keeping our own, where we can save, etc. It helped paint a realistic picture so I don't lose my s**t later over the inevitable tough decisions the FO will need to make (I'll actually expect them). Haha

But yeah, Paraag and his staff know all the loop holes and ways to manipulate the cap. I can't wait to see how he does it this off season. Plus it will be fun to see how ShanaLynch prioritize the needs as well...and like you said, how they navigate the draft with so few chips...and late chips, to boot.

Great work on original post NC. I agree with Eric Davis as well.

Guard seems like the position we really need to address this offseason.
