I hate seeing Borland's name on that list. I get that he's an advocate against CTE but what could have been.
Why lump in together draft picks from two different regimes?

Who knows. But it does show some epic fail no matter whose in charges. Can we just trade out of the 2nd round forever?
We still need a lot!!!!

We do. We need a Mike McGlinchey-like talent at RG, need Richburg to remain healthy for 16 games (3 straight years on I.R.), need a true XWR with speed to complete the WR group, need Taylor and Hurd to get and stay healthy, need an Arby who Kyle can design game plans around esp. in the passing game, need depth at FS, need to resign AA and extend Kittle and Buckner plus about 6 other cheaper in-house FA's, need our DC to continue to expand coverages without Woods here and to stop going to his p***y shell late in games, need Kyle to learn to stick with his running game until a team proves they can stop it, Lynch needs to start reading draft and FA environments better for trades and entertain all possibilities and not get "locked-in" to their plans or their guy and overpay like they usually do (i.e. poor move to announce they are done restructuring one week after the Superbowl, etc. Yes, if we want to get back to the Superbowl, this FO still has real work to do.

My plan above agrees.

Jones will get a thumbs up when he can stay on the field for more than 3 games at a time.
All these quality safeties getting cut. That certainly lowers Ward's market.
With Buckner's cap hit down to only $12.3M, extending him this year might be moot. The FO might be able to get his cap hit this year down to $9M with an extension. That saves us another $3M in cap space. But, that would be quickly offset by extending Kittle who's current cap hit is only $2.2M.

In short, because neither players $ value could possibly increase higher than it already is, my guess is the FO punts both their extensions until after the CBA is finalized. We're in great shape 2021 and Kittle will become the highest paid TE and Buckner will get top 3-5 DT money then.

Offer AA a long term deal now and with a saturated WR and S market and deep WR draft for a second year in a row, let Ward and Sanders test the FA market. There's a good chance both will be back on low end contracts. This happened to Ward last off season before coming back to us and signing a modest one year deal.

I don't think this impacts them extending either Kittle or DeFo, they can get DeFo to like $5M cap number, same for AA, and still extend Kittle, and retain Sanders IMO.

Only $5M cap number for DeFo and AA??? Wow! I'd be shocked. But so happy.
Now that the CBA is agreed upon will we be seeing any activity on some of these player decisions soon?
