I'm confused as to what part of my post implies anything about where we pick being relevant to the discussion of which prospect is better between Bosa and Williams. I think the draft thread for Bosa was removed, so I can't reference it. If I am correct about it being closed, I have to assume it was because of how polarizing he was as a prospect causing the thread to derail; and yes I know a majority of it was politics. But a lot of people were finding issue with his social media because it offered confirmation bias that he would be a bad or risky pick. Yes, only a 5 page thread was offered as evidence (can't offer a thread that no longer exists) but you do realize that the thread was only made because it became such a large discussion within the Bosa thread that it warranted it's own separate discussion? And that 30 people voted for QW? Also, why would discussion about who to take if Bosa isn't there take place in the Bosa thread?

Okay. This poll is an attempt to revisit an old question. Right?
Well my point is the either/or nature of the point is for the most part off-base.
Why?
Because we didn't have the 1st pick. The storyline simply didn't play out the way the poll question suggests, because Arizona was supposed to take Bosa. That forced 49ers fans to legitimately consider a # of defensive players that weren't really ever in play.
I can legitimately say I learned alot about QW's game and life -- alot of stuff I'd have never cared to know -- because we were picking #2.
Give us the 1st pick and yes, there would've been room for a legitimate either/or debate between these two for a few months. That's just not the way things went tho.
Have fun with the question at hand as you wish,....I'm just saying the truth on the way things played out takes alot of luster off of it. Kinda dull.

Arizona made it quite clear with the hiring of Kingsbury and their statements in January, months before the draft, that they weren't taking Bosa.

Which is why they met with him in April??
https://arizonasports.com/story/1893144/report-cardinals-meeting-with-potential-no-1-pick-nick-bosa/
"I get we have the first pick and there's going to be a million scenarios over the next three months that are going to come up," Kingsbury said. "No — Josh is our guy. Kyler is a tremendous player. I said that, was being very complementary before playing an opponent. I understand the soundbite."
With the Superstar Kyler Murray now looks to be, Hindsight is always 20/20,...and you knew all along,...but clearly as I just showed above, AZ played the game.
When you are #1 you literally hold all the "Cards."
It wasn't the fabled either/or scenario people are making up here today.

Bosa all the way, but as noted in one of posts above, i was certain he was going to AZ until KK came on the scene with his comment re: Murray. I knew it but just didn't believe it. The gun goes off and son of a gun...AZ and KK do take Murray . Wow, talk about a gift. Which reminds me once again, "Thank you AZ, and especially you Kliff. You made our yr".
I thot the AZ b.s. (and they worked the heck out of it the closer it came to draft day), that they might entertain other offers. We, OTOH, just sat there and prayed that KK was telling the truth way back in Jan. Not until Murray was announced did i finally breathe. Still can't believe it. But AZ fired their 1st yr HC from the previous yr, brot KK in, and he makes the statement re: Murray. But the closer to draft day, the more KK sounded like a cheap auctioneer. Yet when it counted, he went with Murray. AZ screwed themselves.
And in the process we not only got the best player in the draft, we got one helluva great young man. And that is when our bad luck ended.

I'm just mad Hero gets all the credit for starting the Bosa campaign , when I started a similar thread before his; "John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan's task for 2019" (paraphrasing) is to tank for the #1 pick to draft Nick Bosa. I believe the thread was deleted.

We almost lost the original Nick Bosa thread, too. People couldn't pull their heads out of their asses and stop talking about stuff that had no bearing on football.
Luckily, we were able to convince the mods(thl?) to reverse the lock and leave the thread to stand in all its glory.

Except for the OP literally asks if you were
hoping for Nick Bosa or hoping for QW. I mean sure, one can say they hoped for QW because they thought Bosa wouldn't be there so please don't Josh Allen or someone else, but I don't think anyone is misinterpreting the intent of this thread. You can still hope for Nick Bosa even if you thought he'd be gone; hell before we knew we'd even pick 2nd I was preparing myself for Burns or QW but hoping we'd get a chance at Bosa. I don't think anyone of the "receipts" that hero is speaking of are from people who spoke poorly of Bosa simply because they thought Bosa won't be available and so they had to talk themselves out of it. I mean, sheesh, that would be like counting your hens before they hatch..

I wanted Allen before Bosa but wanted nothing to do with QW.
We selected right but Allen is no slouch.

This. Glad we got Bosa instead, he's a monster!
