Benjamin, Like Sherfield played alot with Trey in Training camp. Plus need those speedy guys to get downfield for the occasional Trey deep bombs. Both Benjamin and Sherfield are kind of useless with Jimmy G at QB.

This 100%. They activated this guy because Trey is the only one that can throw deep enough. Expect at least 1 bomb this game to go to Travis from Trey. It was something that was not a factor with Jimmy.

Hopefully we see a few at least today. Benjamin & Sherfield should help Trey since they help him run scout team a lot also
I am sure glad that Travis Benjamin had locks of great looking hair sticking out of all corners of his helmet during yesterday's game. That hair sure did look great, didn't it? Especially as he DROPPED a long pass from Garoppolo that HIT HIM IN THE HANDS. But his hair sure did look good as he was dropping that pass like a boob, didn't it?

For once -- just for once mind you -- I'd like Kyle Shanahan to remind these bit players that if they spent as much time on catching passes in practice as they do with hair styles on game day, they might actually make a significant play and earn significantly more playing time.

But, I suppose you can't do what Bill Walsh did and get away with it anymore, can you?

That wasn't a drop. The pass was underthrown and the defender was able to get a hand on the ball. I don't even know if the CB looked back for the ball, if not we could easily draw a PI penalty if the timing wasn't perfect for the defender.

the ball was late to Benji.. late enough where the DB helped Tb catch it.. but then ripped it away

Blows me away that people consider an incomplete pass where the defender hits the player right as the ball hits him (or a split second before) a drop.

This is an easy touchdown with a better throw. This isnt a drop.
He's our speed guy 4.31 40

I don't know why he didn't high point it. It's a catch if he puts his arms above his head.

I cant imagine that having to slow down and come back to a ball after sprinting full speed downfield had anything to do with not being able to jump high and catch it above his head.

He can't run for 5 seconds then jump? He's a pro athlete.

When you're 5'2", a PS player and have had 25 snaps all year and Jimmy throws a 61 yard bomb that hits you between the 1 and 7, you better catch it or that'll be your final snap.
