Rookies coming in more nfl ready every year now… the receiver market is out of whack and will self-adjust. See RBs.
the only thing worth paying max for will be the generational talents in the near future. Top 10 (enter position here) won't be automatic "set the market" contracts for much longer. Transfer portal, NIL, and more commonly used pro-style schemes in college is creating parity in college that will trickle into the NFL. I know most of you probably disagree, and that's fine, I could be wrong. I simply think the drafts floor on skill positions is starting to rise a bit…. If it does rise, contract values should level off some. Supply and demand

We could just stop paying their salaries, aka, want something to cry about? Lol
The only person who really thinks that we are f**ked without him is probably just BA. I am falling for another man, Cowing. Ready to break up lolol

LMAO I'm ready to have my heart broken all over again, let's go cowing!
people act like we don't have 4 other All pro skill players on offense outside of BA (Kittle, CMC, Juice, Deebo). Our offense wouldn't be bad, just not quite as good.
the real Achilles heel on offense is the damn o line. We need to get Trent back and get banks healthy. Otherwise, that'll be the death of us. lol

If we put him on IR (designated return) due to his BAD back, will he receive checks for those games? ?

Yes, injury guarantee. The fifth year option is fully guaranteed outside of holding out etc.
I think the team will have to designate him as a hold out so he doesn't get paid - I'm not sure exactly how it works under the current CBA. It'll honestly get really sticky, really fast. They'll have to prove that he is not actually injured - which can be difficult to do. There is a lot that goes into it but I doubt the team lets him just sit on the team taking an injury collecting almost a mil a week. Thats a bad precedent to set going forward for everyone.

With all the guaranteed money becoming the norm, maybe there should be more performance-based contract terms: decentives for failure to perform.
Don't perform, that contract value should decrease.

Can we IR him without a designation to return because if his fake back injury? Would that count as service time or no?

Hey, we gotta pay our movie stars and athletes, because, you know, they are the most important people....
If you don't like that don't buy the pay per view stuff and regular cable and go to the games. You don't have to do any of that if you don't want to. Ultimately people choose to support this.

yeah i asked AB if we would put him on the NFI list - I think he said he doesn't think that would be the actual list but I imagine we would put him on something similar.
I was watching a video with Bill Belichick and he said it gets tricky when a player is saying theyre injured and you're trying to prove theyre not. can get real messy.
Let's just hope a resolution happens and it doesn't come to this non sense. he's clearly faking an injury. man nothing would be sweeter than winning it all this year without him. really just winning it all in general but would be hilarious without him.

I thought both guys would sign over the weekend as it would give them a good two weeks to get ready.

Just tell him they are putting him on IR because he is saying he is hurt without a designation to return. Means he can't play this season even if traded. He wouldn't want that and probably would say he is healthy.

Which he totally can (signing bonus) and that would get prorated into the life of the contract which in fact lessens the cap hit each yr. Also means they have less wiggle room to cut him down the road.
cap space for the most part is fake. Sure you might have one or two big cap hits on these super stars. The contracts aren't close to FGTD and the cap hits over the life of the deal reflect that.

This doesn't have a good OL and while Brock looks promising he's also got top end play makers all over the place. BA being his most valued receiver last yr.
also this league has shown you don't need an amazing RB, yet they're paying one the most cash in the league.
