Also yes I'm not concerned about it either…football will still played. It's just mind blowing that people want to trade him for a bag of chips because of emotions.

It doesn't matter to me what sources you want to believe, all those guys have shilled for agents, players, gms and owners alike at different times. They've been right, they've been wrong, and there are many nuances to every negotiation.

I would say that someone who believes the niners made one offer in March and literally ignored all subsequent calls from the players agent (who is also the GMs agent) afterwards is very naive.

Anyhow, it's all good theatre that the NFL loves!
"Per ESPN's Ben Solak, since 2022, Purdy has recorded a 32.6% explosive play rate (passes of 20 yards or more) when targeting Aiyuk. Purdy averages an 18.3% explosive play rate when targeting WR Deebo Samuel, tight end George Kittle and running back Christian McCaffrey."

Ouch - now that puts it in perspective - the risk of losing that production is huge and would probably impact everyone else's production as well.

IMHO - now BA is playing for the 5th year option - he'll sit out until 6 games left in the season so he can vest this year and be a FA or Franchised next year. But as management I would send the message -- much needed imho -- that if you f*&^ around like this, management will be harsh back -- non-exclusive franchise him next year so you get draft pick compensation when another team takes him.

At this point, it's time to dispassionately accept the reality of his role in the season and move on -- get TW signed and focus on replacing BA with Pearsal and Cowing as quickly as possible.

Why is that naive? They always wait until the last mins to sign guys.

not everyone needs to be lying all the time just because. And yes it all makes for good entertainment…some guys just can't wait until the end of it for whatever reason
I am at the point with both Aiyuk and Trent that if we get the deal done than great! and if we don't then ohh well. We might not win the Superbowl this year missing both of them but will still be a playoff team. On a plus side we will have 50+ million extra a year in the future to work with. I would rather have them but I don't see it as the end of the world if we don't either. One could make the argument that it would benefit us long term to not pay them.

Trent is getting older with injuries. Paying him huge is probably a mistake. Aiyuk is not s superstar. He's a very good player who has an over inflated sense of his accomplishments.

You truly believe that Aiyuks agent got this offer and tried to get in contact with niners management, which includes A CLIENT OF HIS John lynch, and they simply just ghosted/ignored him??

Bro lighten up. Lol at you responding to everyone all defensively. lmfao

Just pointing out how emotional ya'll are, no sense in denying that.

I'm looking at it logically and objectively. someone has to respond to the whiny nonsense and pull ya'll back from jumping off the bridge.

No one has to respond to any whiny nonsense, its not a rule or your job to. Lol

Responding to everything that doesn't agree with your views or the way people act makes you the emotional one here brother. Relaaaax and go see a movie. Lol

I'm assuming you freaked out over Bosa, Deebo, Warner, Jimmy G not "producing" following their extensions that yr?

They didn't. And it was a problem. Not sure you point here other than pointing out a trend that the FO is absolutely aware of.

Didn't they agree on a contract then Aiyuk backed out? 49ers have made a fair offer but Aiyuk wants more or else it would've been a done deal.

I say move on, give his money to Trent and trade for a WR.

No that never happened. SF offered him a below market deal in May then didn't negotiate anything until like August.
.

You just choosing to believe that or do you have a source? It was reported they had verbally agreed and BA backed out after the St Brown deal was signed.

I don't know the truth… Just wondering which board you're throwing a dart at on that one

I mean there's also this thing called a salary cap. Which is exactly what this is about lol. I'm sure Jed would be happy to write a massive bonus to every one of our stars under the table if he could.

Good call!

i feel that BA is waiting to see what Chase gets and will ask for the same or close to it.

If we flat out trade him, we won't get much in return because he won't sign a new deal w/that team.

No team is going to give up high draft picks or a very good WR for a one year rental.
BA will have to play under the 5th-year option or not play and not get paid. Next year, the 49ers will then either trade or tag him. If he is smart, he will bet on himself, play out his option, and see what can happen next season.

The 49ers cannot afford to pay him what Lamb got and pay Purdy next year. BA and his agent need to recognize that the team also has a goal to be met if the team is to stay out of salary cap hell.

Agree, Ceedee isn't a good comp for BA… he's got a much larger market share in the Dallas offense.

We get it, but nobody seems to care about your opinion. Also nobody is telling you to change your opinion like you keep doing to other fans that don't agree with you.

A lot of us seem fine with BA not being here.

Because you're all being emotional babies about it. That's not an opinion that's a fact. Thankfully our FO doesn't act like that.

let's move him for nothing, make the team worse on a roster that has to win now….because BA hurt my feelings and didn't accept the contract that nobody knows the details about.

I thought you took a hard stance against personal attacks? Or is that judgement reserved for others?

The emotional gig you're on was old days ago. Hasn't aged well either. Friendly advice: argue the point and let go of the ad homonems 👍🏻. You'll be better for it

We're not going to win the Super Bowl this year because of Kyle Shanahan. Not having BA or Trent just expounds the misery associated with a head coach who chokes in big moments. Regardless, I'm sick of these divas commanding more than they deserve. Aiyuk is not Jefferson, Chaise, Brown, or Lamb. He's a cut below and if he can't accept that, then by all means go some place where they will stupidly pay you the salary you think you deserve. Oh wait, he doesn't want that either. He wants to play for a Super Bowl contender AND get paid doing it. Get him out of here

I don't think we will crater as an offense, but we def won't be as good. Would be hard to be 1 again but I still think top 7 at worst.

worse for sure though. Aiyuk is very good. Our run game would suffer as well as our pass game. Unless we played JJ in his spot - which would be good for the run game but def a drop off in the pass game. He's a good third option but not 1 or 2

And that's fine during the regular season, but once the postseason starts we need ever top player available to get that chip. We already saw even that wasn't good enough last season. We barely scraped by GB and Detroit. This season teams have only gotten better.

We need both Aiyuk and Trent to get where we want to go THIS season. And even that might not be good enough. Without either one of those players, our chances dramatically drop.

But if I had a gun to my head and had to choose between the two, I'd have to go with TW. Definitely no shot without him.

Aiyuk is a really good player but I agree he is not a superstar. He is not one of those players you cant let go of. I think he probably is a top 10 WR but not at top 5. Still the best WR currently on the team and we will miss him this season. But paying 30 million at WR just doesn't seem like the smart answer for us. That is not how are roster has been built for long term success.

With Trent we were already getting close to the point of thinking about trying to find his replacement anyways. But he has put us in a real bind because of who we currently have behind him. I don't like the idea of rewarding someone holding the team ransom, a guy who has 3 years left on his contract. If he is looking for something a little better then fine. But if he is looking for this long term fully guaranteed contract then hell no. He can either play on the deal he signed or stay home.
