yeah, he has no control over that and would be ridiculous if they did that. if he's playing on the fifth year - we are tagging and trading him next season. no other option.
even if he decides to hold out all year - that's what is happening.

Dude is just gonna play on his 5th year option and leave next season

If he holds out this year (he won't) than his trade comp is non existent. He would also not get paid nearly what he would of if he accepted our current offer, whatever that is

And that is when you fire the FO, why would they agree to that?

50% of something is better than a 100% of nothing

I hear you, but if I am the 49ers I am not giving up any leverage. Lynch and Paraag have jobs to do themselves. Technically they have been very soft with him.

BA has no leverage. He can fake an injury, but then good luck getting the deal you want from anyone if he pulls that.
He plays on 5th year and then gets tagged. He can find a trade partner that makes the team happy and him happy, or play on the tag, or accept their offer. Same dance.

So what you are saying is its OK for SF to want it's cake and eat too. Aiyuk on the other hand can't have his cake and eat it?
Right now our best offer is essentially a 2nd round pick. Which was all we was offered this past offseason. Fo you really think that is going to ho up?
You are OK with the 9ers letting him sit out for nothing so we can tag him and trade him next year? To at best get a later 2nd round pick that we turned down in April.
Which mesns we don't use his services this year at all. We'll likely get a worse pick than we turned down in April. All for a pissing contest?
Or agree not to tag him. Have him play all season (if he even agrees to do that) then you'll likely get a 3rd round compensation for him the following year.
Get his services for a year plus a 2026 3rd or no services or half ass service and get a pick worse than the one you already passed up.
Not saying that's te route to go. It's far less stupid than I think some realize. Just as you say it would hurt BA in the long run. It will hurt SF's trade leverage just as much.
My brother informed me that Greg Papa is on KNBR saying that Mike Garafolo said that a Brandon Aiyuk deal is close and he is expected to return to practice.

That could not be further from what Garafolo said here. So if you're tuning in, don't get too excited lol 😭 https://t.co/Sozf62MvHY

Weird argument. Aiyuk is still under contract/. One that was bargained for by the players union. Aiyuks the only one trying to "have his cake and eat it too."
