Time for Johnny Boy to grow a pair.
We have passed the window for this to be resolved amicably.

Even if he comes back, he may not be in shape, hasn't been practicing, will be out of rhythm with Purdy.

He's an employee that isn't performing to his contract. Time to move on and let Shanny start scheming for others guys.

I think the combination of Pearsall and Cowing can replace him. They should start fining him.

I would use this money elsewhere. He has always had a weird attitude since he was a rookie. Great player, but not good for the culture Shanahan and Lynch preach. I think they know that also, that is why they agreed to trade him and aren't moving from what they offered.

So I read it is like 6k each for a missing practice in an escalating scale and can get to 45k for missing team activities.

The 49ers can also suspend him without pat for 4 weeks for conduct detrimental to the team.

yeah I read/heard the same thing. I think the team views that as a worst case scenario but Aiyuk is forcing their hand at this point by not practicing or preparing to play.

based on how much he's made - which is really $5.5M or so at "take home". It would be hard for him to eat all these fines and miss game chances.

he would make more this year than he has his entire career combined, so far.

NFL with us and Jerrah pissed about CeeDee and Dak should just put in a new rule :

Player can ask for an early extension, but if terms can't be met. Play under the contract you signed or banned for life in the nfl. You signed the deal. Good luck in Canada.

the problem is US labor law....

There are narrow exceptions made for the NFL, NBA, MLB etc...

The NFL has always...ALWAYS....tip toed around the edges on this stuff, they absolutely do not want to end up in front of congress....they exist based on understandings of the law that date wayyyyyy back in time, when frankly the USA thought very differently then it does now.

You can't get 32 billionaires to agree to much, but collectively they do not want that kind of attention.

I have long thought the best thing that could happen to the NFL is league wide incorporation...with each owner getting shares based on their current current value, and bonuses equal to their revenue. So ...say....if you are the Dallas Cowboys...and you out sell everyone, you get a bonus equal to what you would have earned had the league not incorporated.

It will never happen, again greedy owners.....but if it did....they could toss out soooooo many headaches when it comes to labor.

For example....BA...and his current situation.....

It is not sign with a different club...This is where you work...if you dont want to work here....you can put in for a transfer next year...untill then go to work or get fired....

The contract would be with the NFL...not with the 49ers....So there would be no other team messing with the player. The dynamic would be no different than Walmart dealing with a contractor that wants to paint lines in the parking lot. If you apply to paint lines in California for 4 years...you paint lines for 4 years, or be in breach of your contract. Why would Walmart let you try to paint lines in Denver...you could not even honor your contract in California.

Legally you CAN blackball a contractor in that way. What you can't do is have 32 separate companies collude to blackball a contractor...that runs afoul of US labor law.

What a turn for BA.

He went from having the entire fan base blaming the FO to now most blaming him.

He rejected more money.
He got a taste of UFA when he was not a UFA.
He saw his worth on the market.

He wants the Niners, but he also wants top money. The Niners aren't giving him both. And now they've told him they're done indulging his ego.

Been saying this for the past weeks already. Use the money elsewhere, sign Trent.

What was better about it?

For one, Lloyd needed almost 50 more targets for 100 more yards.

Fair enough and valid, and I think Ayiuk is infinitely better, but every other measurable shows Loyd's was better on paper .

Take this to the Brandon Lloyd thread

No
The agent here is also to blame. He needs to admit to Aiyuk that they've lost and their best option is to take the best 49ers offer. Any other scenario risks tens of millions of dollars.

I would be surprised if the agent hasn't already made this case. Seems more likely BA is in his own world.
He needs to be traded as soon as possible. He is a distraction to the team. Time to move on.

Only reason this team is as stacked as it is and is doing so well within the cap is because "Johnny Boy" already has a pair, and doesn't let these fools push him around.

If BA doesn't play Cowing Pearsall, Jennings will pick up the slack.
If Trent doesn't play its good for 5/6 losses

I also think they will finally use Kittle on a regular basis. Fans have been complaining about Kittle being underused in the passing game for the last couple years now. I also think CMC could have a 1000 yard receiving year if they truly wanted him to. He came close once.

I don't think Aiyuk being here or not will really have a huge impact on Kittle's usage. He hasn't been under used in the passing game because of targets, but because of lack of quality blocking. Against certain teams we simply have to keep him in to help block. Getting a quality RT will help Kittle's usage more than anything else.

I'm good with that. TW should be the priority.
