Been saying this for the past weeks already. Use the money elsewhere, sign Trent.

I'm good with that. TW should be the priority.

TW can kick rocks too. He signed a 6 year deal 3 years ago. So now he's upset that he's not the highest paid? GTFOH with this nonsense. These guys are on a winning team that's adding to their legacy and career accomplishments. That has value. If they want to chase money only then go play for s**t organizations that are perennial losers.
I am no GM but for me it has always been about we've exercised the fifth year option which meant BA was no free agent and that we were looking to reward him early this year with a lucrative extension and if he rejected it he would have to play on the fifth year option and bet on himself. The only way outta that would've been if someone gave us pre draft this year a top fifteen draft pick OR post draft, which was less likely, a package of players and picks that would help us this year and sartén the blow next year. If none of this happened we would be tagging and trading him next year

So, here we are and BA and his agent have proven to be dead wrong in their assessment of this whole thing and our front office has been tip toeing around what I already knew they'd have to do and for this I fault both parties. BA should have been told straight up to either take what we offered him within reasonable negotiations or negotiate a trade predraft and if this failed he would be playing on the fifth year option and be tagged next year and likely traded if we couldn't come to terms

He should have been informed that he was not a free agent yet and that he still had to play for it here or else he would make no money

Stop playing with these dudes and let them know this is a job and we're in the business of playing and winning.

He just came from one in Washington where he had never won a playoff game prior to. This stuff makes us miss Joe Staley for sure

They're all trying to get paid while there's still money in the bank. I agree with many that it's going a bit far, but I won't be angry until or unless games are missed and L's are tallied.

We literally lost so technically we are looking be behaving like losers. Based upon a franchise that's won five chips this is loser behavior. You lose then want to be paid like champs while still under contract. We had the confetti of another team dropped upon our heads and now we are expecting within fifteen minutes of losing while under contract for Jed to drop his own confetti into the pockets of these guys pockets?

Ridiculous! I know Brock at some level has gotta be incensed at the greed going around here and I would secretly desire better teammates that won't quit at first chance when I'm playing through shredded elbow for pennies trying to park this bus into the garage

I'd tell Aiyuk the most recent deal offered is the last that will be and I'd start proceeding with repercussions for missing practice etc. Force him to play on his 5th year and then threaten the franchise tag next season if he wants to eff around and find out. At some point the team needs to end this BS and stand firm. I'm beginning to lose respect for our FO for not having the balls to tell this diva his game is over and he's not the one in control if he intends to continue to play NFL football.

Exactly. Time to go the Joe Douglas route because players are starting to forget that they are truly blessed to be a part of the NFL and that any player is readily replaceable and the teams and league will move on and still make an exorbitant profit without them. If they don't believe it they can ask Kaepernick.

This ain't the NBA where the players really can form their own league if they so choose because that's more a players league but the NFL is an owners league so play by the rules and you'll have a job. If you don't you'll be unemployed and have to work like the rest of us. The rules are you're under contract so play it out and get to free agency. BA was even allowed to test his market and he's still throwing a tantrum so I ask where now are his defenders?

So CMC shouldn't be the highest paid RB? He, Bosa, Williams, Warner and Juice are all literally the best in the league at their positions. Don't pay em and then it's probably less likely the team ever gets it.

Did you hear what Steve Young just said? This is loser behavior. What's happened is these guys lost the Super Bowl. Something we didn't do back during his time. Now everyone believes they sacrificed last year and now they they lost it's each man for himself and to hell with team it's time to get my bag. Well to that I say you are more than welcome to get it elsewhere if you can't come to terms with the team because the whole existence of all 32 teams is to win the chip and not to get players paid.

Teams will only fit in player salaries into their budgets if they feel that salary will help them win. Now if your salary can't fit here then try that elsewhere. Players can't have the benefits of playing on this squad and still get paid like free agents. Then with CMC he got paid a raise but he didn't get what he would as a free agent. Any deal we make with players under contract is NOT what they would get as a free agent and that should be common sense.

BA is finding this out now as will Trent. Here you have to negotiate your price or you can be gone like Defo. If you want to win in SF then take 90 to 95 percent of what you would elsewhere or pack your bags. We don't do free agent deals for guys already under contract

Did Steve say this was loser behavior? Cause I want a link to that Edit..ok, he said things are strained because of BA. I usually agree with Steve, this time is no exception. Ya know it's bad if Steve is calling ya out..I sure as heck would not want that if I was a 9er.

Shame, shame, shame!

Right. I mean get your money so you can feed your family. That's fair. But don't think you're gonna get free agent cellar dwellers cash here because when we're paying 9 top 100 guys that just ain't happening. These guys are trying to get cellar dweller money on a Super Bowl roster. Good luck with that!
I have a crazy feeling that today is not the day
This is getting exhausting.

He's upset he has zero gtd cash left. Legacy and accomplishments are fun and part of it…acting like the money doesn't matter is being foolish.

Being the best at your position (and one of the best players in football) allows you to have this type of leverage. Folks gotta get over it. You want great players on your team, it's gonna cost $$

I mean Lamb/Brown/JJ ASB aren't on FA "cellar dweller teams" so that whole perspective is simply not true.

good teams usually have great players and that cost $$ shocking I know.
