I would love is to do that, it might work.
If Aiyuk is betting on a scenario where the 49ers look bad on offense Week 1-2 and then caving in he is crazy. Kyle will never, ever agree to that. He has way too much pride.

The problem is that Aiyuk used all of his ammo.

He can't request a trade harder. He can't sit out more. He can't pound the table again.

He is just going to miss game checks now. His time to strike was two weeks ago.

As much as refusal Aiyuk has been dishing out, he has no choice but to either accept a trade or miss game checks. If Aiyuk caves into what the 9ers offered him, he'll be one of the biggest laughing stocks. IMO. If he settles for anything less than $28 million, all of what he did would have been for absolutely nothing. Dude is in a deeper hole than he wanted to be in, his bluff been called so many times he's looking like a big a*****e now.

This all comes down to how much BA believes in himself.

If he truly has confidence in himself he will play on the 5th year option and get the deal he wants (after a trade) next offseason.

If he actually feels like he's in for a down year he will take the Niners offer and guarantee security.

The Niners offer isn't changing. If he didn't believe that before, he will now.
precious egos at play here. Chase wants one more penny than Jefferson. Aiyuk can't step on the field knowing ASB and Lamb, Moore and Waddle are higher paid than him, and therefore "more valuable," in his view I'd imagine. He's dug himself a hole, and he's gonna have to learn some humility to get out of it.

At this point, playing on the 5th year and betting on himself, is the best way out of this. Everyone will forget all of this quickly if he suits up and catches touchdowns.

Dumb ass should've just kept his mouth shut and played on his 5th year option 9ers always reward and take care of their best players. His agent, girlfriend and brother revved him up now he's paying for it. smh
The ONLY reason I would sign Aiyuk to a big contract is because I believe he's better than Deebo and we can trade Deebo next year. That way, BA's contract is offset by Deebo's. With Pearsall and Cowing coming up along with Jennings (highly underrated imo)....we're set. But because we have all those other weapons, at this point I'd trade BA in a heartbeat knowing we can get a very good return.

This is the issue here. He has dug such a deep hole that even if he wants to come out of it he now risks looking like a complete asshat if he doesn't "win" the negotiations.
Don't fire on me but even if we don't do it this year we just need a couple of drafts like this year from what I've seen so far. Get a LT in free agency we can shove the superbowl window back open. Send the ME guys away and play on boys.
Nobody is bigger than the team and if the 49ers cave then they will be walked over by future contracts....At this point he's turning other teams off by these antics, bruh is not making wise choices

BA salary floor is $14M plus next year's franchise tag $24-27M. Trent & BA best case scenario is 49ers get dominated by the Jets 24-3. Massive failure to move the ball. All of a sudden the pressure is on the team to get the players back into the fold. So that is the gamble...don't play and hope their presence is clearly missing on the field.

This is why players need to stay offline when it comes to their opinions about their own contract.

Deebo, Trent, Kittle, etc can all look like they won because they never aired their laundry.

s**t getting tired already. Accept trade, sign, or play on 5th year. Stop showing ho tendencies

I do think the Niners will have reservations about giving him this contract at the expense of losing Deebo.

That HAS to figure into their value of Aiyuk.
