So at this point he needs to accept the niners offer, play on the fifth year, or get fined millions and lose 14.1M for not playing while also not accruing a year of eligibility in the nfl.

Or he can accept a fair trade, which he has refused to do

Which is why fans should also get comfortable with the idea that the best possible solution is him agreeing to play on the 5th year option and us agreeing not to tag him.

I don't see a better outcome for either side at this point.

NO ! If we can't tag him, we can't trade him and only get a 3rd a year later. Why on earth do we need to do that. He's got plenty of incentive to play his 5th year, and he can still have a big say in where he goes by agreeing to a contract.

We paid a 1st for him, he has improved to that level, and we should demand that back, and We have no incentive to give that away.

Show the report please….also he'd be dumb not to wait when everyone knew a bunch of WRs were gonna get extended. SF should have known as well and offered him something sizable to begin with. Not ghost him.

Lol @ you believing they ghosted him (online rumors) but not believing they had negotiations early and an alleged deal in place (online rumors).

If I had to guess, based on all these rumors, it sounds like the skeleton/major #s were in place and basically agreed upon early. Then the WR contracts started rolling in and aiyuk said now it's not enough. Do I know that to be a fact? No. But none of us here or the Twitter bots actually know either.

I don't begrudge aiyuk for going back on a verbal outline if that's the case necessarily. Niners responsibility to have him sign on the line that is dotted.

But at this point I think it's getting to where he just needs to play the 5th year out

You don't know that

Don't know what? Multiple people said they offered him a deal around $26M and then didn't renegotiate until like late July/august

Do those trades even still stand? It's even more difficult to trade him now because the seasons about to start. At least back then he could have got acclimated to the teams system/offense.

Didn't you know he knows everything.

I just use the same sources you all do. The problem is you all only want to believe them when it benefits your narrative.

As I e said before, there are two sides to every story. Many of these reporters are shills for agents, players, owners, gms. I don't take this as true just because an NFL reporter posted it on twitter

That report may be true, but we have an example from as recently as yesterday that Garafolo doesn't have this situation completely figured out.

Your lack of self awareness is hilarious.

I mean Lamb/Brown/JJ ASB aren't on FA "cellar dweller teams" so that whole perspective is simply not true.

good teams usually have great players and that cost $$ shocking I know.

And they aren't paying 9 top 100 players either. This is the 49ers and we aren't paying free agent bucks to players still under contract because we are trying to win and not become cellar dwellers.

whatever that's your prerogative. I'll use the most trusted reporters and insiders to formulate what's happens vs just making up what I think is happening.

He reports as it happens. At that pt (July 16th) they had not renegotiated anything. Once we went back to the table things started to sound more promising. Overall it sounds like there's a bump in the road over GTD cash in the 4yr of his deal. Sounds like SF as of now isn't budging. Neither is BA and here we are Mx
