It's STUPID for this to be about the money then not take the trade for the money not take our early extension for the money and then not show up to play for the most he's ever made in the fifth year option money. By sitting out and not signing with us or taking a trade deal he's now gonna lose money. No ifs ands or buts about it and that's STUPID!

Is schefter one of your "trusted reporters"? He's said the 49ers thought they had a deal in place early but it didn't happen. Aiyuk has said he thought multiple times it was getting done, didn't happen. So what is the truth?

Arizona State University education system looking a little shaky

He reports as it happens. At that pt (July 16th) they had not renegotiated anything. Once we went back to the table things started to sound more promising. Overall it sounds like there's a bump in the road over GTD cash in the 4yr of his deal. Sounds like SF as of now isn't budging. Neither is BA and here we are Mx

You can't discount that teams and agents/players will report things strategically to writers to put pressure on another party or generate interest/attention on some level. We have countless examples of this with the 49ers over the years, though they are not unique.

The simple fact is we have very little information we can confidently rely on in this situation, and it's become an emotionally charged one for fans.

I wasn't making fun of you but my point obviously went over your head.

they report as it happens, is that hard to grasp? They didn't talk from May-July 16. unless we're not allowed to use any NFL reporters as sources now?

god forbid this team didn't do something right. No one that could be a thing

I know exactly what self-awareness is, bud. You said something wasn't true. I gave you a report and then you commented on me because you had no other rebuttal

So, we should just give Aiyuk $35m/year? Should we let Brock walk next year because we don't have money to resign him?

From everything that has been posted, the offer we gave Aiyuk is a fair offer. The rumor was that the Steeler were offering $28m/yr vs 9ers at $26m/yr. And the last rumor was that the 9ers increased the offer.

No one knows what Trent Williams wants other than guaranteed money for the next 3 years. Maybe he wants to be the highest paid OT in the league?

We have the most talented roster in the league. With a salary cap, there are going to be A LOT of moments like this. This is NOT on 9er mgt.

This mgt group has shown they will pay for players who perform. They have also shown that they had insight enough to push cap room from last year into this year to help with the problem. Maybe you forgot what the mgt group and roster was like BEFORE Shanahan and Lynch?

He's not asking for $35M a yr. So no need to make up numbers.

Brock is under contract next yr…unless you think we should trade him for nothing because he's gonna holdout and folks will get emotional about it as well? And saying we will have no money to pay Brock is ridiculous lol. His cap hit isn't gonna affect this team in any meaningful way for at least 2 to 3 seasons.

Saying the 9er management has no fault in any of these is a homer take.

Yeah pay the player that lead the team in every receiver metic and was an all-pro. Give some GTD cash to the best LT this past decade.

get off your tribalism take. I love my 49ers. Saying they have no fault here is naive.

Quit acting like you know what is going on. They know if they want him around or not and at what price. Seems like they are willing to let him sit.

Just because you think he is worth a certain amount, doesn't mean they do. They didn't draft 2 WRs, 1 of them being a 1st round pick for nothing. They saw this coming.

That does not equal they ghosted him.

That just reads they would not raise their offer.

It was clear from the beginning that BA was planning to get the most money possible. To that point, he knew multiple other WRs were looking for market-setting deals. So, they worked a deal that SEEMED like it would be near or at the top...then ASB set the market higher than anticipated and BA's team decided to wait it out and see what the highest set would be. Now they are looking for something higher than the 49ers can pay and the wheel spins...

Obviously you dont, and I never said anything wasn't true what I said was that you know everything and clearly you think you do.

I mean I guess no one can objectively comment about it then? We're now at the point where the best most trusted insiders are lying now because we don't like what they said.

I mean for all we know there was no trades in place or contracts offered from other teams. Can't trust those guys.

FWIW guys like Rapp and garafolo work for the NFLN and that's owned by the league.

I'm not sure that's the case (it may be). We also have had multiple reports, from credible writers, of other teams (like the Pats) being willing to shell out well above ASB's deal… yet a trade didn't happen because BA said no.

I find it somewhat hard to believe that BA and his agent think we're going to move to those numbers if any of this reporting has been fully accurate. They would know we have our own price.

All I'm using is the legit info out there. A whole bunch of you are getting upset when that gets brought up and want to defend your narrative.

again if they didn't think he's worth what he wants then they should have traded him when teams like DC was offering the 36th overall pick in the last draft.
