I mean for all we know there was no trades in place or contracts offered from other teams. Can't trust those guys.

FWIW guys like Rapp and garafolo work for the NFLN and that's owned by the league.

I'm not saying they're lying. I'm saying we don't know as fans. I also have absolutely no problem with speculating on it… but that's what it is: speculation.

I'd use the Lance arguments from last year as an example. We had reports from media and statements from the team, but we also had a couple years worth of actions the team had taken to help us sort out what was quality information. We really have none of that in this situation. Only the reports and statements. It's more guesswork.

The simple fact is we have very little information we can confidently rely on in this situation, and it's become an emotionally charged one for fans.

Lol even schefter admitted he doesn't really know what's going on with this this morning.

hes just going along with the rumors

You mocked me for no reason over me saying they didn't speak to him for a couple months.

I then presented a legit report and instead of saying oh my bad guess that was a thing. You talked about some self-awareness b******t.

Because he said it lol. Reports said he didn't want to play for those teams. Not that the money wasn't on point.

Who the hell said 4yrs $130M FGTD? I said I could offer you 4yrs $130M with $20M GTD. APY is 33M but you have no real money to your name. That's why APY means nothing and that's more than likely the issue here. The GTD $. For him and Trent.

Did HE say it or did a source like Houshmandzadeh say it?
He didn't want to play for the Patriots(non contender) but there was a reported contract offer.
The Browns, but didn't want Cleveland.
He wanted Pittsburgh, but not enough money.
And the $130 comes from reports of him wanting his last year GTD and Ceedee just got 4yrs $138m with $100m gtd.

Just because you think he is worth a certain amount, doesn't mean they do. They didn't draft 2 WRs, 1 of them being a 1st round pick for nothing. They saw this coming.

All I'm using is the legit info out there. A whole bunch of you are getting upset when that gets brought up and want to defend your narrative.

again if they didn't think he's worth what he wants then they should have traded him when teams like DC was offering the 36th overall pick in the last draft.

Why? Because that is what you think is best as a fan with no experience running a team?

They have him under contract on a good team. They can afford to keep him this season because eventually, he will have to play and when he plays, he isn't going to dog it because he wants to make a lot of money on his new contract.

They also drafted for this scenario and also gave him a price they are good with.

They are also willing to trade him and let him talk to teams. They were good with 2 of the 3 deals offered, and he didn't agree.

49ers will be fine. BA might end up losing millions in the long run. He isn't some game changer teams will wait a year or 2 for just to pay.

Show the report please….also he'd be dumb not to wait when everyone knew a bunch of WRs were gonna get extended. SF should have known as well and offered him something sizable to begin with. Not ghost him.

Lol @ you believing they ghosted him (online rumors) but not believing they had negotiations early and an alleged deal in place (online rumors).

If I had to guess, based on all these rumors, it sounds like the skeleton/major #s were in place and basically agreed upon early. Then the WR contracts started rolling in and aiyuk said now it's not enough. Do I know that to be a fact? No. But none of us here or the Twitter bots actually know either.

I don't begrudge aiyuk for going back on a verbal outline if that's the case necessarily. Niners responsibility to have him sign on the line that is dotted.

But at this point I think it's getting to where he just needs to play the 5th year out

I am more inclined to believe this too. BA upset the Niners brass because he went back on a verbal, and that led to the series of unfortunate events that has us where we are today. Both are ultimately at fault, but I believe Auyik shoulders much of the blame here, especially stoking the flames with the online shenanigans.

At this point, just play out the 5th year and shelve this until next offseason. Then work on a new contract or trade.

Yeah because he said it was a fluid situation. What he reported weren't lies. Yes Cleveland/pitt/SF all had trade discussions and contract negotiations. Yes SF first speak to BA for a couple months.

Adam wouldn't be where he was if he just reported "rumors" all the time.
Trade him for the best we can get. Including to Patriots, Browns or anywhere else whether he wants to go there or not. It's a stalemate--9ers aren't going up any more, and he has locked himself into demanding much more. Now he is a big distraction. Would have to trade BA or Deebo in a year or so anyway. BA is not of no use to us if he is not playing, or if he is limited or gets injured because he has not been practicing and getting in football shape. You can't give in and set a terrible example for dealing with other players.

No I've always maintained that and All Pro WR would warrant a top 15 draft pick this past draft or equivalent package or no deal

He's not a distraction at all. Out of sight out of mind and it just gives others more opportunity

That's why more often than not I use "IMO" when talking…I also bring trusted legit reports to my conversations about this stuff.

folks don't want something to be true…that's where we're at right now…fans in here are now saying garafolo/Adam/Rapp are making stuff up lol? Come on man. I know I'm thickheaded, but if someone puts that info in front of me. I'd say oh maybe you're right…instead of doubling down

This has nothing to do with how he got started, but when it comes to 49er news, no one knows the real truth

So he's worth a top 15 pick but he's not worth a top contract? Can't have it both ways man

It's not different they any report they do across the league man. 49ers are special there. This whole thing is just super fluid with a ton of options on the table. It doesn't make the reporting wrong. It's just changes quickly.

It's emotional for people.

Personally I don't care one way or the other what happens here. I like Aiyuk. I think he's a very good receiver who is somewhat overrated by 49ers fans. I'd be happy if they signed him but I also question allocating the kind of money we have on skill position players.

I'm indifferent to the likely final outcomes and I just think there's not enough real information to argue to the death about it.
