They offered what they could offer, based on the business model they are using.
If they loose BA next year, that is not the 49ers fault....there is a salary cap....you can not 100% pay everyone what you would like to pay them.
In the mean time...the player is held out, not locked out....that is 100% the players fault....
Okay so what about all the other extensions they've done? All of them were under contract. None of them played out their deals or got muscled into having it play it out.
So next yr if Brock doesn't agree to their "business model" he's gonna be forced to play on his $1M deal?
acting like the cap is some factual thing that is never manipulated thing is silly.
it's both sides fault. Same with Trent.

the BA reports have been in every direction that negotiations can take you
to believe just one of those report is being naive, no matter who is reporting it.
We should all know by now that Media has no intention to give facts anymore, it's all about clicks

Nah. Not the credible reporters at least. Like NY said, the situation is fluid. And again, teams and agents leak things to reporters strategically. It's not sinister. It's SOP.

you can't command elite compensation and then in the same breath say he's not worth elite money.
most people don't agree with me because they're emotional fans who can't be objective here. We've gotten to the point where we think the best insiders that we trust and use as sources all the time are lying and we can't use them…because of feelings lol.
Naw you get your hands outta your pants because you must be "feelings" yourself. I am playing armchair GM and if I want to win this year pre draft you want my all pro WR that I have for $14M with the ability to tag him on hen you better pony up a top 15 pick so I can have a CHANCE at replacing him because he he draft is a crapshoot and I have no guarantee I can accurately replace a proven commodity
Now keeping with that same leverage post draft I tell my player you either take my deal play on the option or find me a trade I like and you like. That's where we're at and that's where we should be because we can have our cake and eat it too
I told you guys his could happen and it will and we won't let Aiyuk go until we get satisfied one way or the other. This is what you're seeing now because BA ain't a FA and he's under contract so if he's gonna make money it's gonna be on the terms we've set whether via one of our contracts or any trade he may still yet concoct that we like
"Feelings" ain't got nothing to do with business

Telling emotional fans to take the tin foil hats off is pretty exhausting.
you do know you don't lose your fan card if you don't agree with everything they do. I promise.

Nobody muscled BA. He could be gone right now to NE or CLE but he backed out so he has to properly use the muscle in between his ears

You are operating in feelings if you think Aiyuk is fetching a top 15 pick, or that we wouldn't/shouldn't trade him otherwise.

I agree history does show we get things done. It also usually happens extremely late in the off season for whatever reason. I'm also not saying they haven't had negotiations with him since they met in mid July. I don't find it absurd that they might have ghosted him for a couple months after that first offer.
My issue is people want to poo poo a report (which he said a couple times) because they simply don't want it to be true. Then in the process get mad and mock me lol. Like relax. I didn't report it lol…I just brought up the report.
It's just odd to me that you don't see that guys like schefter, etc. are fed things from teams/players/agents/gms that are to their respective benefits.
Just as you say there is no harm in not defending niners management, nor is there harm in saying the player or agent also heavily contributed to this stalemate.

Oh you tickling your pickle too? 🤣
This is what I would've wanted pre draft to give up my All Pro proven WR because I'm trying to strengthen not weaken my club. Looking at the last draft I felt MAYBE one of the top four guys had a chance to replace BA for us this year thus my top 15 pick requirement. There's no way I wanted to trade him anyway but if I did that's what it'd take. You get it?
Why would I want to trade him instead of extend him or play him on the 5 th year? What's in it for me to trade what I got at $14M with the ability to tag and trade next year? Huh?
That is why I would set a high price just to get my antennas up

Thats because I'm dead inside emotionally when it comes to the players with rare exception, lol. They're tools to do a job.
