First play of the game should be play action deep pass to him. Test his speed and maybe catch defense sleeping.

Great so you're saying we lose the coin toss. Don't be so negative.

What Jimmy did in 2017 with Trent Taylor and a pretty sad OLIne, and what he can do with a loaded offense like we have today, is going to be nigh and day.

That's not a lot of production. It would be like 250 yards for the season...

Trent Taylor is back, pettis seems to upped his game, deebo is back (probably not in the AZ game, but maybe after), Reed definitely can factor in as well in the passing game. If Aiyuk can just distract the defense enough to free up the other guys, I can see this offense not dropping off at all despite losing Emanuel to free agency. If Aiyuk can do more, I think that's a net positive overall in a sense - with *all* the other players 1+ more years in the same passing scheme.
I'm with you here Giedi; Pettis was drafted to be a workhorse in this offense. If he has his head on straight, he could be impactful against a secondary that struggles. Along with Taylor and Reed and Kittle and Aiyuk here and there, I have faith in what Kyle sees.

Is Aiyuk 100%?
Aiyuk, with pads on, runs strong. That's the one thing I noticed in his highlights. Actually, when I watch highlights, all I really watch for is how that player carries the pads and some other minor things that have nothing to do with the yard production of the highlights.

he really reminds me of OBJ--both body type and play style... hopefully with a bit more toughness... What was Kyle's pre-draft comp for Aiyuk according to Simms again? Isaac Bruce? Think we'd all take any of those (can see a young Emmanuel Sanders like you said too for sure)

I'm thinking more obj bc sanders if so far from a tackle breaker or a YAC guy. BA is exactly that

I've told this story before, but I like it so whatever I'm an ASU fan and watched him all last year thinking he reminded me of a faster Deebo, and I thought that's why we wouldn't draft him. I'm happy I was wrong about the draft, but his play style is similar, although probably not as aggressive.

With Aiyuk questionable for the game - I wouldn't mind IRing him with Deebo and have them both come back together.
