I predict he will go over 1,500 yards and 13TDs.

Deebo and Bosa had a subpar year after they got paid. I don't think Aiyuk will go over whar he did last year. *One* reason is he got his contact. He won't be as hungry as last year when he knew he was playing for his 2nd contract.

I think that was more to do with them holding out and missing OTS's and Training Camp than any loss of motivation.

Reports are that aiyuks first couple of years have a really low cap hit. Waiting to see what it is
EDIT - DETAILS ARE RELEASED. THIS COMMENT HAS BEEN UPDATED TO REFLECT THOSE NUMBERS.

We can already get an idea of what the cap hits are going to look like. Rapoport reported Aiyuk will receive $47 Million between now and April 1, 2025. Let's presume none of that is 2025 money. His cap hit would be $1.125 Million (minimized P5 Salary) leaving $45.875 Million in a signing bonus. That signing bonus is prorated over 5 years ($9.175 Million per year). He would have a 2024 cap hit of $10.3 Million (1.125 + 9.175). The 49ers would save $3.825 Million in cap space.

Since we know some of that $47 Million is option money that is due on April 1st, 2025, Aiyuk's cap hit in 2024 is going to get smaller. Aiyuk's cash flow in 2024 is $24.125 Million. Subtract the minimum salary of $1.125 Million and you get a signing bonus of $23 Million, prorated at $4.6 Million per year from 2024-28. All of this is guaranteed at signing.
  • $1.125M (`24 Salary) + $4.600M (`24 Signing Bonus) = $5.725 Million (2024 Cap Hit)

In 2025, Aiyuk will get a minimized salary of $1.170 Million and an Option Bonus of $22.855 Million, prorated at $4.571 Million per year from 2025-29. Starting in 2025, the contract provides a Workout Bonus of 100k and an Per Game Active Bonus of 750k. $20.875M of this compensation is guaranteed at signing. The remainder of the compensation is guaranteed for injury at signing and fully guaranteed on April 1, 2025.
  • $4.600M (`24 Signing Bonus) + $1.170M (`25 Minimum Salary) + $4.571M (`25 Option Bonus) + $0.100M (Workout Bonus) + $0.750M (Per Game Bonus) = $11.191M (2025 Cap Hit)

In 2026, Aiyuk will get a minimized salary of $1.215 Million and an Option Bonus of $24.935 Million, prorated at $4.987 Million per year from 2026-90. All of this compensation is guaranteed for injury at signing and fully guaranteed on April 1, 2025.
  • $4.600M (`24 Signing Bonus) + $4.571M (`25 Option Bonus) + $1.125M (`26 Salary) + $4.987M (`26 Option Bonus) + $0.100M (Workout Bonus) + $0.750M (Per Game Bonus) = $16.223M (2026 Cap Hit)

The final 2 years has no guaranteed money.
  • $4.600M (`24 Signing Bonus) + $4.571M (`25 Option Bonus) + $4.987M (`26 Option Bonus) + $27.274M (`27 Salary) + $0.100M (Workout Bonus) + $0.750M (Per Game Bonus) = $41.432M (2027 Cap Hit)
  • $4.600M (`24 Signing Bonus) + $4.571M (`25 Option Bonus) + $4.987M (`26 Option Bonus) + $29.150M (`27 Salary) + $0.100M (Workout Bonus) + $0.750M (Per Game Bonus) = $43.308M (2028 Cap Hit)

The 2025 option adds 1 void year. The 2026 Option add another void year.
  • $4.571M (`25 Option Bonus) + $4.987M (`26 Option Bonus) = $9.558M (2029 Cap Hit)
  • $4.987M (`26 Option Bonus) = $4.987M (2030 Cap Hit)

Since we know some of that $47 Million is option money in 2025, his cap hit in 2024 is going to get smaller. Say Aiyuk's cash flow in 2024 is $27 Million. Subtract the minimum salary and you get a signing bonus of $25.875 Million, prorated at $5.175M from 2024-28.
$1.125M (`24 Salary) + $5.175M (`24 Signing Bonus) = $6.3 Million (2024 Cap Hit)

We can calculate the minimum cap for 2025. $20 Million still needs to be accounted for through April 1 2025. The 2025 cap hit will increase with any additional salary, workout bonus, and/or per active game bonus. We can presume the 49ers will minimize the salary and provide a Workout Bonus ($100k) and Per Game Bonus ($750k) starting in 2025.
$5.175M (`24 Signing Bonus) + $1.170M (`25 Minimum Salary) + $4M (`25 Option Bonus) + $0.100M (Workout Bonus) + $0.750M (Per Game Bonus) = $11.195M (2025 Cap Hit)

Aiyuk is structured to receive $90 Million through year three. A minimum of $49.020 Million has already been spent in 2024-25, leaving $41.830 Million remaining for the 49ers to structure in 2026. Not all of it will be salary. Let's assume the remaining amount is split into a $20.130 Million Salary and a $20 Million Option Bonus.
$5.175M (`24 Signing Bonus) + $4M (`25 Option Bonus) + $20.130M (`26 Minimum Salary) + $4M (`26 Option Bonus) + $0.100M (Workout Bonus) + $0.750M (Per Game Bonus) = $34.155M (2026 Cap Hit)

The final 2 years have $44.125M remaining.
$5.175M (`24 Signing Bonus) + $4M (`25 Option Bonus) + $4M (`26 Option Bonus) + $21.120M (`27/`28 Minimum Salary) + $0.100M (Workout Bonus) + $0.750M (Per Game Bonus) = $35.225M (2027 & 2028 Cap Hit)

The 2025 option adds 1 void year. The 2026 Options would adds another void year. The cap hits over those void years are $8 Million (2029) and $4 Million (2030).

We'll see how the spending is actually structured in the next couple of days.

Paarage, that you?! Lol

all jokes aside - incredible breakdown. Appreciate the info and clarity! Very impressive. Unless you copy and pasted this from something lmao. I'm assuming this is your own breakdown

but having those two lower cap hits over the next two years should be nice. I'd bet the market is going to keep getting crazy so his 30M average will most likely be a good deal in the near future.

Nope, not Paraag. I would have caved to Aiyuk last summer at $26M and Trent would already be taken care of and excused from preseason.

Yeah, tbh the whole waiting till one year is left to pay a player has always been iffy with me.

for example, the bengals can save a lot of money this year by just signing Chase to an extension this off season. The market is going to keep going up.

i guess the real concern behind it is that teams don't want players asking for new contracts until they only have 1 year left but I think making an exception for rookie scale contracts would be a good idea.

same thing with guys like the cowboys - it's easier to resign guys in a stagger than all at once. So lamb, parsons, and dak. They could have paid lamb last year and saved a lot. Would make it easier to resign parsons

Not just you. Many people here kind of turned on him.

But will that happen when Brock and his agent eventually "negotiate" with the team? Na.

Folks turned on Deebo last year... don't remember if folks turned on Bosa.

I was good eitherway if Aiyuk stayed with us or got paid someone where else... he deserved this kind of money if these other WRs, who recently got paid, did. But I'm not a person who believes a WR should be paid that much.... I'm more of the money should go into the Oline, Dline, and legit pass rush. Legit middle linebacker like Fred. One-two difference playmakers on offense.. and role players everywhere else. Extremely athletic safety that can cover ground or make up for mistakes (Tartt was this for us for many years).

And you pay for a legit QB that will always keep you in a game...help you get back in a game if the running game is struggling.

That's how I feel a team should be constructed and maintained... but I'm not a professional, and come from the old salary cap way of thinking. Cap has increased.

Let's hope Brock's goes smoother. lol niners should be prepared to make him a respectable offer from
The get go - his contract and price shouldn't be a surprise. I also hope he's one of the first to sign so we don't end up in some holding pattern waiting for others to sign.

I was fine when it was 100M and these guys were making under 10M a year.

Pretty soon you can't go to a game for under $1K. If TV games become PPV that will be it.

Paraag needs to make sure Purdy's extension happens next offseason so some of the money can be spread onto his fourth year. He's eligible for an extension as soon as the final regular season game is over. If Dak isn't extended, they might have a shot at getting Purdy signed for sub-60 Million.

Dak like always will be a good qb but until he wins playoff games it will be hard to get top $$

I'm confused by the people saying B.A. won the negotiations. The Niners may have upped their offer a little bit a while back, but Brandon accepted the same offer that has been on the table for three weeks. It's not like the 49ers caved at the last minute and gave him something that they weren't prepared to.

Both sides won. It's an agreement. We got our guy at an acceptable price. Aiyuk gets paid an acceptable amount.

I had that thought after I posted. At worst both sides gave a little bit.
