With so many players to pay on our team, it's a position we can cover up and we have lots of other options. Loved BA until hearing all of this. He better be f**king awesome and the fans should make sure he hears that everywhere

How does a 2nd and a 3rd help us in 2024?

The team is positioning itself for 2025 and beyond. They're preparing for paying Brock and replacing Williams. There are players that will be traded or released prior to 2025.

As long as Deebo doesn't get hurt and has a good year, we should be able to get a similar package for him after the season.

Also, they were simply giving themselves the best alternative possible if Aiyuk did not stay. Pragmatic logical approach by the FO. I wish they did this more when they draft (aka draft a f'in tackle)

also lets sign brock purdy as early as possible and for whatever he wants before some stupid QB out there becomes the highest paid QB and resets the market.

Brock is going to slow that down because he also wants to know where the market is heading, and usually its up. The later you sign the more money you get. Example - just look at what happened with Mr. Aiyuk.

Yeah, Brock is going to have a banner year and most likely reset the market for QBs next year.

Naa. Brock has a good touch on the deep ball, and BA can give him a step. Stretching the field makes Everyting work better, and makes the defense spread out to cover a lot more acreage that Kyle can exploit. BA is worth it.

We're still getting the benefit of the 5th year option, as this brings the 5 year average down to $26.8m/year. We'll work around it. It's a 4 year extension, but a 5 year contract.

Paarage, that you?! Lol

all jokes aside - incredible breakdown. Appreciate the info and clarity! Very impressive. Unless you copy and pasted this from something lmao. I'm assuming this is your own breakdown

Nope, not Paraag. I would have caved to Aiyuk last summer at $26M and Trent would already be taken care of and excused from preseason.

Agree 💯%, great breakdown. Team is getting ready for another Brinks convoy to Purdy's house next year.
You just can't cover up a true man beater wr with some unproven rookies. You guys must think Shanny can just scheme up anybody open at any time. If that was the case we'd have a SB.

I think he'll come in right below whatever Dak is going to get. It's gonna be a monster contract.
Too bad Cowing is gunna outshine this guy /j

Yup and American football is spreading around the world. Still shocks me that last years Superbowl had *double* the viewership that any other Superbowl had. EVER in the history of the NFL.

Well suffice to say that the Brock family will have enough money to buy that gold plated Yacht that they have always wanted next year.

The SB window will never close with this core:

Purdy
Warner
Bosa
Aiyuk
CMC
Puni
Tig
Dmo

…and they can easily keep them all.
