It's basically a 3 year deal with team options.

Very workable.

Yep. There will be nearly $43 Million left in unaccounted prorated bonus money in 2027, giving the 49ers an out. Moving him post-6/1 would have dead money hits of $14.158 Million and $28.703 Million, down from $42.282 Million and $44.158 Million.

We create $8.399 Million in cap space now that his cap hit has been reduced from $14.124 Million to $5.725 Million. Trent's extension is going to provide more cap space this year (and in 2025-26) if it gets done.

In general, it's a 3 year, $76 million deal. I like that.
I don't know. Thru the words John seems a little irritated. Sleep well last night

The 49ers can pull the plug after three years and $76 million. It's year to year after that.

yup - that's what I noticed.

now remember how you said that. "It's basically a 3 year deal". Now we gotta take that same energy to Trent cause after his first three years, there is no guaranteed left. Lol

I like that! The more space they can create today to roll over to next year is huge. Couple the roll over with salary cap increase and we are in good shape to stay healthy cap wise

Wait doesn't that technically make it a 4 year? Cause it's an extension of his fifth year? With the fifth year unlikely it happens?

maybe I'm over thinking it but isn't it odd that Kyle isn't there? Isn't he usually there?

Nah, for bosa it was only lynch.

The extension added 4 additional years and $120M in new money. Better to think his rookie deal gets torn up and a new contract replaces it with its own cap allocation structure. He is currently on a $134.125M/5 contract.

Seems like market value. Not sure this is the best use of our money, but it certainly doesn't hurt us or our young QB to have a very good WR.

On to Trent.

I think we can safely assume this will be Deebo's last year here.

I think Deebo can still play in 2025. One year with no guaranteed money. We should be fine. I just don't see him being extended.
