On the bright side, he was a non factor up to this point of the season, so no major loss.

Sad but true

If he couldn't come back from a hold out how's he gonna come back from this? Dudes career is over. He's so weak mentally. The only reason he balled out in 23 was to get paid. Got paid and lost all motivation. Wishing him well on a human level of course, but now we'll be 30 mil in the hole for 3-4 years.

It's not only that. People rag on Purdy. But he made Aiyuk. He was never a top ten receiver. Overpaid AF.

I'd like to agree with you but besides BA no other WR can get separation on this roster. It's a loss. Should have traded him to PITT.

No not really. He's guaranteed $76 million which works out to $19 million per year. Still a lot of money.

No, the reason he did so well last year was that Kyle had found a pattern of plays that got him open all the time, and Purdy's accuracy allowed him to take advantage of it all. This year the league adjusted and shut down those windows.

Yes, he may not have had the fitness he did last season but that would have come. In any case, all we can do now is wish him well in a quick and full recovery.

This is the right take. But people who value football too much in their lives have nothing but negative things to say about Aiyuk personally as if he wasn't trying. It's a business. He held out to make sure he got paid what he deserved...and this is exactly why he held out. Imagine how this would be had he played on the 5th year option. He was smart to get his contract. Everything about the situation just sucks all around.

Yep.

At the time a trade to Pittsburgh for what they were offering would have been an absolute nightmare scenario for all 49er fans. When the deal got done, everyone was happy.

The best we can do now is hope he recovers fully as a lot of players do now days from ACLs and come back strong in 25 and 26.

You sure about that? Still felt like there's some animosity between the front office/Kyle and him. Anyway we paid for a Lamborghini and get a Volkswagen this season.
The Chiefs lost a starting DB with a broken leg I think. Browns lost their high priced QB (Watson) with a torn achilles. Lions lost Hutchinson for the rest of the year with a broken leg. Devastating leg injuries are really taking their toll.

After the game yesterday, Donte Whitner said that he thunks a lot of the leg injuries are because players can't go high anymore without getting flagged. This is a rough sport and no matter how much they try and reduce injuries with new rules they're still going to happen. The defense has to be able to tackle.
Sucks, it looked bad it and it was. Pretty classless posts on here too. But nothing new there I guess lol. This fan base is kinda meh.

How can you possibly comment on "animosity" between Kyle and the FO? I am specifically talking about fans. We were all happy when he resigned because it meant running it back with an All-Pro WR from the prior year.
Hope he heals up and comes back strong next season. s**tty injury to have to deal with.
Wow, the additional damage is f**ked up for a dude who heavily relies on making explosive cuts. Probably never going to see BA sniff another season like his 2023 season.

Complete knee blowout. Wow, he may never be the same. Next man up, praying for BA.
