I still wouldn't be surprised if they try to trade him next year. If his knee is okay they should be able to get a better offer.

I think next years bonus becomes guaranteed tomorrow, is this correct?

Dude was never getting moved. That shipped sailed when they paid him.

as long as he comes back healthy. We got a good WR1 and can focus on other stuff. All the hate for BA is over the top imo

I don't like the word "hate," however, I believe his attitude from immediately after the SB on through negotiations turned off a lot of people, myself included. I always wanted him back, still do. I just felt this attitude was more than "just business." It was borderline "punk."

I mean imagine hearing that the guy who signs your checks regrets signing your checks and is still upset about how you handled the negotiations.

BA won't be a 49er for longer than this year. I'd bet a lot of money on it.

I we don't win more than 6 games again this year, I wouldn't bet money on Aiyuk, Shanahan, or Lynch being here longer than this year. If Purdy hangs tough and holds out, I wouldn't bet on him not popping up in Chicago with Johnson and near his alma matter and his wife's farm.

Chicago drafted a number one overall QB last year. That's a primary reason Johnson took the job.
Maybe he will be a refreshed Super Star by Thanksgiving. Gobble Gobble

Sixty two percent completion, 87 percent rating, and apparently a dubious likeability rating. Unknown how that's going to work out.

Yea he was a rookie in a bad offensive system. I agree we don't know how he's going to work out but they're not going to move off him after a season with a good offensive coach to sign, or trade for, Brock Purdy

B.A has all the leverage, if he's pissed off we are in trouble. We will just be stuck with a pissed off WR.

So what he wanted was if he can't pass a physical in March 2025, his injury clause guarantees his entire 2026 pay, when he's presumably not injured? Who's looking after these idiots? Either John York is going to have to do it, or we're going to need to clean house and put someone in charge that has common sense with money.

The stupidest refrain in football and the one that slams your eyes closed and heads you full speed to the cellar is "Pay the Man". $70m dead cap money in 2025 to get rid of him? You can never expose yourself to that. No wonder we're cleaning everybody out.

IMO, Aiyuk is not worth a dime this year, as he's going to miss the first half, and the second half he'll be rusty like he was for 7 games last year, and worse as he'll be hesitant on that knee. Pearsall will be the better man.

Sorry, man. I Still wish we'd have tried to have taken our chances with Ben Johnson. He can't be this stupid.

Guarantees against injury aren't some special unicorn provision in NFL contracts. Money that vests into a full guarantee over the life of the contract is typically is converted from cash already guaranteed against injury. Bosa's contract has 34.5M in guarantees against injury that vests into a full guarantee over the life of the contract. 20.35M of his 30.9M 2025 compensation was already fully guaranteed at signing. The remaining 10.55M was guaranteed against injury at signing and vested into a full guarantee on 4/1/2024. Bosa's 23.18M 2026 compensation was guaranteed against injury at signing and vests into a full guaranteed tomorrow, 4/1/2025. 769k of Bosa's 2027 salary was also guaranteed against injury at signing and becomes fully guaranteed tomorrow, 4/1/2025. When Purdy signs in multi-year extension, It's going to have like 100M in guarantees against injury the will vest into full guarantees by April 1, 2027.

The person in charge of contracts has been Paraag Marathe. He's been with the 49ers since 2001 and is basically a made-man within the organization. While coaches and GMs got axed of the last 24 years, Marathe keeps getting promotions because all he does is making the York family a ton of money. I have issues with his negotiation tactics, but the guy isn't doing anything abnormal with the stuff you are crying about.

It's a 70M dead money cap hit to cut him as the 49ers would be responsible for paying out the injury guarantee if cut now, or the full guarantee if cut after today. If he's traded, the money due to him would be paid out by another team, leaving the 49ers responsible for the money already paid but not accounted-for. At this point, the 49ers haven't accounted for 18.4M of his 23M signing bonus. When his 2025 option bonus is executed, reportedly tomorrow, that number will rise by 22.855M.

Please, stop worrying about the cap. You clearly don't understand what is going on.
