AJ Brown was my draft crush last year vs deebo but I'm happy with deebo. Too bad he's not a true wr yet. More of a gadget rb/wr.

Aiyuk is going to be our wr1. He already is. I wish our qbs threw him better balls and saw him wide open on 2-3 more long tds. That's more the OL and pass pro but still.

537 yards 28 Receptions 19.2 avg. 3 TD
2-150 yds plus games

Ceedee has 36 receptions 497 yds 13.8 avg 2TD

Aiyuk updated 20 receptions 280 yds 1 TD
Rushing: 69 yds 2 TDs

I really like Aiyuk, don't get me wrong. I am happy he has been very good for us, but to say he has been way better is misleading. I would swap Aiyuk only for Jefferson because Jefferson plays outside and I believe he will be a Star. I don't think I would trade for Lamb because he mainly plays in the Slot.

Gotta take into consideration that Aiyuk doesn't get the same opportunity as those guys too though.

Sure he does. He had 7 targets today for 115 yards today. He has had 32 targets on the year whereas Jefferson has 36 targets total on the year. Aiyuk also missed the first few games.

Meh but different offenses too. Vikes go down the field a lot more than we do. I don't think it's a fair comparison. We spread it around so much. Vikes not so much. But Jefferson is balling crazy good right now

And. There. It. Is.
Bottom line is he's right there in the conversation with Jefferson and Lamb. Sure all things considered I probably take Jefferson or Lamb over him. But the fact we got him WITH kinlaw is a huge win for the team.

I love me some Aiyuk - keep it up rook, they'll be some rewards for you at season's end.

Agreed, but a receiver getting over 100 yards in this offense is HUGE. It's not every week and we've come a LONG way from 2017. It sucks that we still likely will need to draft a receiver in 2021, but for once, we won't be looking for someone who absolutely must start. I am perfectly fine with Samuel/Aiyuk for the forseeable future.

Perhaps we can now focus on a returner/deep threat type.
Impressed. So far it looks like we hit on our first-round picks.
It's kind of silly to compare Aiyuk's stats to the other rookie WRs as they mostly are the #2 receiver option. In this offense the #1 guy is Kittle and then depending on the gameplan Aiyuk could be #4 or 5.

It seems like all the rookie WRs are living up to their pre draft hype. I'm sure each team is thrilled to have drafted the guy they drafted.
Not to mention the best corners will be going up against this guy whereas on Dallas it might be the third best corner or Minnesota the second best corner. Huge difference. If he was on Dallas or Minnesota his stats would be so much better mainly because they will be passing to catch up and also he would be the number 2 receiver instead of the number one.

That alone makes him more impressive so far

Aiyuk is going to be compared to all other rookie 1st rounders for his entire 49ers tenure. Whether or not you feel this is fair, is a different conversation.

But he is forever going to be compared to Ceedee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy because the Niners needed a WR and passed on these two.

He is also forever going to be compared to Michael Pittman, Tee Higginsm, Claypool and Shenault because we jumped up to grab Aiyuk when we could have just stood pat and drafted one of these guys.

Ruggs, Reager and Jefferson are the only WRs that wont be compared to Aiyuk because of their draft slots.

This probably isnt fair to Aiyuk, but its the reality.

I don't get why people on here get butt hurt about comparing Aiyuk with other 1st Round and 2nd Round Rookie Receivers?

Naturally, Aiyuk will be compared to the Entire Rookie WR Class. Everyone likes to find out who the Alpha Dog is and which team made the right choice in the draft. Some will have differing opinions on who the best is, but in general the stats don't lie.

I don't care if one comes from a Vertical Offense or a Horizontal Offense. Either you are productive or your not. You won't ever convince me a WR who has 5 catches is better than a WR who has 30 catches. Things change season to season. Some guys get injured and some are better than they were the previous year.

Checking and comparing stats is a way to determine Defensive and Offensive Rankings on the year. Is it not fair that our Defense is ranked Top 5 and Dallas is bottom 5? You are what are you based on numbers. Get used to it.
He looks like a legit nfl WR.

Maybe there's better in his class but I'm just enjoying him delivering and not being Pettis lol
He shows his frustration almost immediately with Jimmy.

Yesterday when he caught the ball but had to go out of bounds you could tell he was upset. I was like dude, just be grateful you got to catch it and land in bounds. baby steps, man...baby steps.

Kyle and JL wanted Aiyuk and he ends up being way better than his college film...and way better than the consensus choices, Jeudy, DeeCee and the 3rd one also.

We did just fine with Aiyuk, and those few misses by kyle/JL? Well Aiyuk made up for them. He was worth every penny of jumping up for him.
