Yesterday when he caught the ball but had to go out of bounds you could tell he was upset. I was like dude, just be grateful you got to catch it and land in bounds. baby steps, man...baby steps.

You really thought that? lol

Lol right. People always making assumptions to fit their narrative.

I see the potential to him becoming a absolute #1 WR stud.

If he does, this FO is really showing that they know how to draft great players.

Like the crying that if jimmy threw a better ball he wouldn't go out of bounds, we got so many clowns on here lol

Jeudy can't YAC like Aiyuk and he sure as hell can't catch like Aiyuk. Jeudy was a good prospect, but greatly aided by the national spotlight.

My apologizes, Okdkid. While I thought Aiyuk was talented I was dead wrong on how good he could be from day 1, especially in this system.

Great evaluation, you were on this kid from day 1

Can you guys keep the Jimmy G emotions in his thread? Thanks. That s**t is exhausting
Man... I'm so excited about this kid. I had no clue how good he was. I think he is the best wideout we've had since TO. He's damn good and real WR1. Deebo compliments him perfectly. His hands seem to be good and he's a YAC monster. He is still polishing up his route running, but he looks to be special.

What a weapon to have. A lot of good WRs in this draft, but I wouldn't trade Aiyuk for any of them. We have something special here

Then go take a nap
He looks like a special player in the making

I don't know about all of that. Bourne is a solid back of the rotation WR but his hands are too inconsistent to make him a dependable target. If Pettis played up to his potential and Hurd was healthy, they'd have an absolutely monstrous WR group right now. Instead they need to continue building it further.

Not to mention Bourne is making 3.25 million in salary this year. He needs to step his game up. His contract is up at the end of this year. I think we need to bring in some fresh blood at WR and replace Bourne, Taylor and Richie James. None of these guys produce. Pettis is obviously a goner.

We need to draft a guy in the 5th or 6th rd, someone with speed and bring in some new hungry UDFAs. I am not even counting on Hurd to come back to be honest.
Current Offensive ROTY Odds....:

Justin Herbert 10/11 (-110)

Joe Burrow 2/1 (-200)

Justin Jefferson 10/1 (+1000)

Clyde Edwards-Helaire 12/1 (+1200)

Tua Tagovailoa 12/1 (+1200)

James Robinson 20/1 (+2000)

Chase Claypool 22/1 (+2200)

D'Andre Swift 22/1 (+2200)

Antonio Gibson 25/1 (+2500)

Jonathan Taylor 28/1 (+2800)

Brandon Aiyuk 40/1 (+4000)

CeeDee Lamb 40/1 (+4000)

FWIW Burrow is currently on pace for 4600+ yards.

It's kind of silly to compare Aiyuk's stats to the other rookie WRs as they mostly are the #2 receiver option. In this offense the #1 guy is Kittle and then depending on the gameplan Aiyuk could be #4 or 5.

It seems like all the rookie WRs are living up to their pre draft hype. I'm sure each team is thrilled to have drafted the guy they drafted.

Aiyuk is going to be compared to all other rookie 1st rounders for his entire 49ers tenure. Whether or not you feel this is fair, is a different conversation.

But he is forever going to be compared to Ceedee Lamb and Jerry Jeudy because the Niners needed a WR and passed on these two.

He is also forever going to be compared to Michael Pittman, Tee Higginsm, Claypool and Shenault because we jumped up to grab Aiyuk when we could have just stood pat and drafted one of these guys.

Ruggs, Reager and Jefferson are the only WRs that wont be compared to Aiyuk because of their draft slots.

This probably isnt fair to Aiyuk, but its the reality.

I don't get why people on here get butt hurt about comparing Aiyuk with other 1st Round and 2nd Round Rookie Receivers?

Naturally, Aiyuk will be compared to the Entire Rookie WR Class. Everyone likes to find out who the Alpha Dog is and which team made the right choice in the draft. Some will have differing opinions on who the best is, but in general the stats don't lie.

I don't care if one comes from a Vertical Offense or a Horizontal Offense. Either you are productive or your not. You won't ever convince me a WR who has 5 catches is better than a WR who has 30 catches. Things change season to season. Some guys get injured and some are better than they were the previous year.

Checking and comparing stats is a way to determine Defensive and Offensive Rankings on the year. Is it not fair that our Defense is ranked Top 5 and Dallas is bottom 5? You are what are you based on numbers. Get used to it.

Its not about being butthurt, its about the reality of what happened in the draft. Its only natural to compare him to other WRs. I am not saying its fair or even right, but its reality. Aiyuk looks great so far, but the comparisons will follow him as long as he is a 49er.

Imo it's really tough to compare WRs because they're so dependent of their QB play and scheme, especially using stats...All these top WRs drafted are super talented.
Back to back +100 yard games? Possible with Deebo out and Seahawks putrid defense.
