Man, I didn't know he turned down offers from Alabama and Tennessee to go to ASU. Mostly because ASU was the only one that wanted to keep him as WR instead of just a return specialist or DB.

I was trying to look this up, I mean it's smart considering he would've been the 4th WR on Bama lol wonder if he had any D1 schools offer him something before he went to JUCO..

He only played football his senior year and didn't receive any offers. Mainly played DB and returner.

Oh I thought he was a JUCO transfer to ASU for his Sr year.

We've had QBs take shots downfield. They just miss. Can't continue blaming the OL for everything. In fact, there's a perfectly good example of this today when Richie James was 5 yards behind the Saints' secondary, and our QB still failed to get him the ball.

Yes, OL plays a part, but the QB does, too.

Not with our turnstile Oline he won't. Just like CJ, Mullens and JG he will get hit and hit again until he is injured and down on confidence.

It's some thing you have to practice. Hopefully, Wilson, when we draft him, will and any other QB we have starting, practices with our receivers and the OL to get it down right.

This dude torched a DB on a double move and was held towards the end of the game. I'm so excited for this kid. I feel like he's barely scratching the surface.

but what did he say about contested catches?

Only played his senior year of HS, then went to Sierra for 2 years, then to ASU for the last 2 years.

That last catch he made last night was pretty amazing. All our receivers had to make amazing catches yesterday because Mullens was throwing some pretty poor balls their way.

Also I hate parrot Grant Cohn, but why is Aiyuk not returning punts?

I don't want Aiyuk returning kicks and possibly getting hurt.

Every time you step on the field, you could possibly get hurt. This is football, not tiddlywinks. Some of the hits Aiyuk takes on his catches are no worse than what he'd see on a punt return. Maybe don't have him return kicks (that's a bit more dangerous)....but on punts, that's where you want someone with his skillset with the ball in this hands.

I hear you, I just don't like it. I want him primarily being a wideout - I think that's more important.

I agree. There are other teams who have one of their top WR's return points, at least on occasion. Taylor and James just aren't getting it done back there.

Why risk it for an extra ten yards on returns.

Because this is the typical webzone over reaction to a one time event. We had two guys screw up on Sunday, something that never happens, so what is the solution here? Put more high danger hits on our lone remaining quality receiver who has future number one potential. You know they guy we have been looking to get in here for about two decades? Yeah.
