Established? Can anyone here name a QB in the league that wouldn't be better with better pass protection?

This, it isn't that he would be better....they all would, it is that he has shown an increased proclivity to melting down with pressure. There are guys who simply lose their nerve to take the hits, even if we improve protection this is an offense that is going to ask you to take the hit to deliver the ball at times. You can mitigate it some by knowing where the pressure is and making small moves in the pocket, by being mobile enough to escape the pocket or by knowing where the pressure is coming from and taking advantage of the hole the free runner leaves behind. Jimmy is not proving capable of executing those mitigating moves regularly, he is losing his nerve to take the hit and his saving grace, a fast decision making process and lightning quick release actually take plays out of the book, as evidenced by not hitting the deep ball even when protection holds. He had all the potential in the world, that guy is still in there somewhere, but how many guys who lose it end up getting it back later? Very, Very few. It is time to move on, he may find success elsewhere behind a truly great pass pro line, but we need a guy who takes advantage of what this offense does best and minimizes its weaknesses, Jimmy increasingly is doing the opposite, at least enough to say that his high dollar contract is holding the team back from realizing its max potential.

Sky's the limit for this kid, but where he can really excel is in the deep passing game. No one on the roster is equipped to really sling the pill deep, but if we ever get that, this kid will be unstoppable. We have a real WR1 boys

We'll never be a big deep ball offense but the fact that we have someone who can threaten that level of the field is a great thing. Aiyuk definitely looks like the real deal and he and Deebo should be a great combo. Like that James is getting his shot and showing big things. I know a lot of people were high on him.

Whether it's Jimmy or someone else I look forward to the moment where those guys can be properly utilized on the field together with Kittle and Mostert.

You say that when there has been a lot of talk lately that the deep ball is the missing part of what Shanny wants to run.

Kyle micromanages too much to be a man-on-man throw it up deep ball coach. We really won't know until a WR like Hurd ever contributes. A 1-1 deep ball doesn't require any coaching strategy and we all know Kyle can't stand not being in control of a play.

This. Maiocco eluded to this yesterday. Kyle what's the big plays, both in YAC and the deep ball. His ATL offense had big plays a lot... that was his best functioning offense

I'm sorry man, this is a bad take. Kyle designs deep plays a lot. And every play requires some strategy

Agreed. Which is why I wouldn't have said anything to you if you just pointed that out.

I just don't understand why you have to go the other extreme and make statements like the one I quoted? You said he can't get them the ball regardless of pass protection and then respond saying well yeah every QB is better with pass protection.

Them saying Jimmy would be better with improved pass protection is accurate, you yourself just established that with the bolded comment.

You saying Jimmy can't get them the ball regardless of better pass protection is an overblown statement which you KNOW isn't accurate. This isn't Tim Tebow. Jimmy completed more passes than he missed and he had his share of big plays last year when called upon.

Put it this way, I agree with your overall point but your delivery is over the top and unnecessary. You may argue it's semantics and maybe it is but when you're trying to make your point over the top statements which aren't honest or truthful take away from your point.

Dude you bring up me talking extremes and then you throw in Tim Tebow lol? What are we doing here?

I'm sure even Tebow would be a better passer if he had better PP...that's doesn't make him a great QB regardless. It's not like Jimmy is a better OL away from being some elite QB....If you believe that then we will disagree.

I mean if you want to talk extremes, if Jimmy had Julio, Calvin Johnson and Jerry Rice I'm sure he would be better lol.

I'm sure Andy Dalton would be a better QB with better pass protection...should we bring him in if we improve the OL? Or do we know what his limitations are as a QB regardless of PP?

You're correct we will never be a downfield passing team with the current QBs on our roster.

NY made this a Jimmy 2.0 thread by feeling the need to respond to someone who wasn't even talking to him directly. like imagine feeling the need to repeat yourself over and over in non-jimmy related threads as well.

Bless your heart...I didn't bring up Jimmy needing an OL in the Aiyuk thread.

But yes let's keep talking about posters in here...

Yeah, I mean, I'd love to see us draft another quality WR. If Hurd ever panned out, he and James would be great options in the slot. James from the beginning I thought could be a poor man's T.Y. Hilton, he just doesn't have as good of hands and definitely is prone to some focus drops...

doesn't matter, it clearly pushed your buttons enough to the point where you felt like you just HAD to chime in your recycled two cents in a irrelevant thread. be a lot different if guap was jumping around with an obligation to respond to every poster that had a differing opinion incessantly extending into off topic threads

also i should've said this in my initial reply but he's LITERALLY doing that exact same thing to A. people who aren't even engaging with him and B. in NON-Jimmy threads

you don't see Jimmy fans chasing around differing opinions in threads non related to Jimmy Lol

Yeah it does matter...you attack me yet not the other posters who have a different view SO it clearly pushes your buttons.

Again there was two other posters who brought up OL/Jimmy in this thread, yet not a peep from you.
