Because it's obvious Aiyuk > Sanders and that doesn't fit the whiner agenda

Buckner trade got us Kinlaw and Aiyuk. Still unknown how it will look long term but I like where we're headed with these two.

Remind me how the Buckner trade got us Aiyuk again.

I believe the trade back to 15 from 14 netted us the pick we used to trade up for Ayiuk.
They still need a deep ball threat to Compliment Deebo and Aiyuk. James is good in the slot but still need a bigger prototypical big bodied receiver that can stretch the field. Bourne doesn't have the speed and Hurd is injury prone (who isn't on this roster) but teams are stacking the box to stop the running game so 2 things need to happen:

1) draft Zach Wilson
2) draft an elite deep ball threat to keep the defense honest

Aiyuk wasn't getting drafted in the flrst he would've still been there in third rd more than likely. The Buckner trade was a fail.

I think Aiyuk can become a deep threat. He's shown good straight line speed and a decent ability to fight through contact in his route that should get better as he develops.

Greenbay was going to get Aiyuk. We had to jump in front of them.

in no way the trade is failing, not this year. we'll see what how the future goes

I have a hard time believing GB had their eyes set on Aiyuk, the 49ers jumped in front, so GB instead got Rodgers' replacement (Love). I think GB had their eyes set on Jordan Love the whole way.

Too much GB/Aiyuk smoke out there..You know what they say about where there's smoke..
Aiyuk is playing as well or better than the 3 guys that were drafted before him.
Receptions, Yards, Yards per game, catch %

Aikuk 35, 446, 56, 63%
Jeudy 37, 589 ,59, 48%
Lamb 63 ,629, 63 ,65%
Ruggs 14, 256, 32, 54%

Lamb is doing the best but not by a lot. Ruggs who was a big favorite has performed the poorest and he has played with his starting QB all year. Carr is having a good year. Aiyuk missed the 1st 2 games and has played with 3 different guys throwing to him. At this point, I would say getting Aiyuk at the end of round one was a good pick. Yards per game is nearly equal except for Ruggs who is way behind. Surprising since he was supposed to be a deep threat.

Ruggs is being used really wrong. Yes, he is a deep threat. But in college he was getting the ball in space and then getting huge chunk plays with YAC. When teams had to account for that, he would burn them deep.

Gruden hasnt done that. He has used Ruggs almost strictly as a deep threat. And because the other parts of his game arent being utilized, defenses are doing a decent job taking away the deep ball with him.

Lamb is the class of this group. I also think Kyle would have been able to use JJ incredibly well. I am happy with Aiyuk, but I am not going to pretend like I didnt really want Lamb.

Wholeheartedly agree with this.

Nevermind the smoke. Think of it from GB's perspective on draft day. In your scenario GB wanted Aiyuk to give Rodgers another weapon. 49ers jumped in front to nab Aiyuk. So GB does a complete 180 and plans for Rodgers' replacement. That doesn't make a lot of sense imo.
