Buckner trade got us Kinlaw and Aiyuk. Still unknown how it will look long term but I like where we're headed with these two.

Remind me how the Buckner trade got us Aiyuk again.

I believe the trade back to 15 from 14 netted us the pick we used to trade up for Ayiuk.
Aiyuk wasn't getting drafted in the flrst he would've still been there in third rd more than likely. The Buckner trade was a fail.

Greenbay was going to get Aiyuk. We had to jump in front of them.

in no way the trade is failing, not this year. we'll see what how the future goes

I have a hard time believing GB had their eyes set on Aiyuk, the 49ers jumped in front, so GB instead got Rodgers' replacement (Love). I think GB had their eyes set on Jordan Love the whole way.
Too much GB/Aiyuk smoke out there..You know what they say about where there's smoke..

Nevermind the smoke. Think of it from GB's perspective on draft day. In your scenario GB wanted Aiyuk to give Rodgers another weapon. 49ers jumped in front to nab Aiyuk. So GB does a complete 180 and plans for Rodgers' replacement. That doesn't make a lot of sense imo.
not my scenario.. just give it a search it's all over the place..but you were in the GB war room to confirm this is not true right ?

Yeah I was
Glad you are being honest

Glad you acknowledged your post and lies were dumb

Dude give it a rest. THL explicitly stated that HE had a hard time BELIEVING the reports because they lack logic. He never said the reports were wrong. He never said that he knew for sure.

Reading is fundamental.
Doesn't matter what you believe.. stop the denial.

Reading is fundamental.
take your advice
Brandon Aiyuk is a deep threat. He smoked man coverage in college. He can do it all. We just need a QB that can get him the ball.

Agreed. Not sure how people can say he's not a deep threat watching him in college.

Bourne doesn't have the speed and Hurd is injury prone (who isn't on this roster) but teams are stacking the box to stop the running game so 2 things need to happen:

1) draft Zach Wilson
2) draft an elite deep ball threat to keep the defense honest

I think Aiyuk can become a deep threat. He's shown good straight line speed and a decent ability to fight through contact in his route that should get better as he develops.
I agree. They just need a mobile quarterback with a good deep ball. If Wilson is available I'd take him and another weapon at receiver. It's the only skilled position group paper thin and devoid of superstar talent.

NFL Network's Peter Schrager:

The love for Aiyuk in league circles is a lot stronger than what we're hearing in the media. In speaking with multiple GMs, even with the deep wideout class, Aiyuk is expected to come off the board in Round 1. I've got him going to New Orleans #20, a team that has very few holes, but could use one more receiver if the Saints are going to make a run for Drew Brees' elusive second Super Bowl ring this season. Michael Thomas, Emmanuel Sanders and Aiyuk would form a very dangerous 1-2-3.

... and Bovoda's betting odds had him right @ 32 pre-draft. Go look it up,... But let's not act like he was some unknown.

But educated question regarding the recent Aiyuk back & forth: Since he's not an iPad on Ebay where you can just wait on the next auction if you miss,... Does his play thus far (not after 2-3 yrs of development like some WRs) warrant risking waiting for him till the 3rd??

Quoting Jordan on anything should not be happening on this thread going forward.

I love that Aiyuk works back inside on the first clip to stack the DB. BA is only going to get better and better with more snaps.
You have to measure the success of Aiyuk and Kinlaw as a combo. Lamb, Juedy, Claypool and Jefferson may be better WR than Aiyuk but it's not really much of a gap right now. Aiyuk has been equally as impressive as those other WR.

If Kinlaw and Aiyuk become key players in the coming years and continue their upward trajectory, this draft was a success. This was by far the best combo this organization could have gotten out of those two first round picks this last year.

Who do you take with the second 1st rounder if this team takes Lamb at #14?

I don't care about him, I care about the clip he posted which shows what he can do

Jimmy has time for 2 reads on that play before the pressure is on him. RB in the flat and the comeback. Give him time and that's when you see him finding a 3rd or 4th option

I assume your post is about the play posted vs MIA. I am fairly certain that Aiyuk is the first read on the play should Jimmy choose to look strongside, which he does. Next in the progression is the intermediate jerk route (fake outside, break back inside), then the RB in the flat. So it's a high to low progression.

Presnap, there are no deep safeties. This should alert Jimmy that Aiyuk could be 1v1 on the outside. Postsnap, only 1 safety retreats to a deep zone. From there is becomes a matter of trust whether Jimmy thinks Aiyuk can beat his man. What this play shows is Jimmy thinking that Aiyuk won't beat his man.

We are back to that "trust" thing again....which is a reflection of poor QB play.

They need an O-line that can pass block long enough for the deep patterns to develop. We haven't got that currently and haven't had it for quite some time.
