Bourne doesn't have the speed and Hurd is injury prone (who isn't on this roster) but teams are stacking the box to stop the running game so 2 things need to happen:

1) draft Zach Wilson
2) draft an elite deep ball threat to keep the defense honest

I think Aiyuk can become a deep threat. He's shown good straight line speed and a decent ability to fight through contact in his route that should get better as he develops.
I agree. They just need a mobile quarterback with a good deep ball. If Wilson is available I'd take him and another weapon at receiver. It's the only skilled position group paper thin and devoid of superstar talent.

They need an O-line that can pass block long enough for the deep patterns to develop. We haven't got that currently and haven't had it for quite some time.

Yeah that, and a QB that can throw that far accurately would be nice

Seems to be working for Herbert/Watson/Wilson etc and they're bad OL.
Can't be upset about Aiyuk at all but Jefferson has clearly seprated himself as the top wr from this class so far.

In his favor he has a QB/scheme that gets the ball down the field.

Like Jefferson a lot...WR is very dependent of his QB. I wouldn't be shocked if Aiyuk was doing what Jefferson is doing in Minn.

Yeah just imagine how good the Packers could be if they used their 1st two picks to actually help them this season. They traded up in the 1st round to pick Rodgers replacement which is atleast 2 years down the road and then they used their 2nd round pick on a RB who at best would be Jones backup. And he hasn't even been that this season. Just think of having Adams on one side and Jefferson on the other. How a GM who's team won 13 games last season and went to the NFC championship game could decide in the draft to not improve team for 2020-2021 I don't get. Their SB window is now, not 2-3 years down the road.
. (Wrong thread)

They traded down and took #2 on their big board. Their biggest need was WR not QB..glad they screwed up on that one

Just throw it to WR1 and prosper.

Dunno about that. There's a strong, strong difference between separating yourself and having the best year statistically on a better team.
